- Test automation experience using one or more frameworks or languages, such as Python with pytest, Java with JUnit or TestNG, or JavaScript/TypeScript with Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
- Experience writing and maintaining automated tests integrated into continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline, or AWS CodeBuild.
- Experience with version control using Git and standard software development life cycle practices.
- Strong defect isolation and debugging skills, including collaborating with developers or DevOps to reproduce issues and validate fixes.
- US Citizenship is required.
- An active U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph is required.
Responsibilities
- Test applications deployed on AWS and validate their functionality, quality, and reliability.
- Create and maintain automated tests integrated into continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines.
- Isolate and debug defects, collaborate with developers or DevOps to reproduce issues, and validate fixes.
- Work directly with stakeholders to gather requirements, understand needs, and translate them into technical solutions.
- Context-switch between projects and systems as priorities demand.
- Perform onsite work within the Washington Metropolitan Area and local travel as needed.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience testing distributed systems and microservices, including asynchronous or event-driven flows such as SQS, SNS, EventBridge, or Kinesis.
- Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK, including validating deployments or configuration changes.
- Experience with container platforms and orchestration such as Docker, ECS, or EKS/Kubernetes, including testing containerized workloads.
- Experience testing REST/JSON APIs with tools such as Postman or curl, including validating status codes, payloads, headers, authentication, and error handling.
- Experience with logging or monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Splunk, or ELK for troubleshooting test failures.
- Performance and reliability testing experience, including load, stress, or soak testing with tools such as k6, JMeter, Gatling, or Locust, and familiarity with AWS scaling behaviors.
- Experience with test data management in cloud environments, including synthetic data, masking, seeding, or ephemeral environments.
- An AWS certification such as Cloud Practitioner, Developer Associate, SysOps Associate, or DevOps Engineer.
- Experience in complex, high-security, or regulated environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
