Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Understanding of basic quality inspection methods and measurement equipment is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications is required.
  • Experience with quality documentation and record keeping is required.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office, are required.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with production, engineering, and management personnel is required.
Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the company’s Quality Management System.
  • Maintain awareness of applicable ISO, customer, and internal quality requirements.
  • Assist with internal, customer, and third-party quality audits.
  • Maintain quality records and ensure required documentation is completed accurately and retained according to established procedures.
  • Assist with corrective action, preventive action, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Track quality issues, corrective actions, and follow-up activities to ensure timely completion.
  • Assist in maintaining quality metrics and reports, including scrap, rework, customer complaints, first-pass yield, and other applicable key performance indicators.
  • Assist with process audits and layered process audits.
  • Maintain controlled copies of procedures, work instructions, inspection instructions, forms, specifications, and other Quality Management System documentation.
  • Review documents for accuracy, completeness, revision level, and approval status.
  • Process document revisions and ensure changes are properly reviewed and approved.
  • Update controlled documents when manufacturing processes, equipment, specifications, or customer requirements change.
  • Remove obsolete documents from points of use and ensure only current revisions are available to employees.
  • Maintain document revision history and supporting records.
  • Coordinate document updates with Engineering, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Quality, and other affected departments.
  • Assist employees in locating current procedures, work instructions, and forms.
  • Support periodic reviews of controlled documents to ensure they remain accurate and effective.
  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections using established inspection procedures and customer specifications.
  • Utilize calipers, micrometers, gauges, coordinate measuring machine equipment, optical measurement systems, and other inspection equipment as required.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, control plans, inspection instructions, and customer requirements.
  • Support production personnel with quality questions and provide guidance regarding product and process requirements.
  • Identify nonconforming material and assist with containment, disposition, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate inspection and quality records.
  • Perform first-piece, last-piece, and periodic production inspections as required.
  • Support measurement system and gauge calibration activities.
  • Participate in root-cause analysis using tools such as 5-Why, Fishbone/Ishikawa, Pareto analysis, and other problem-solving methods.
  • Support corrective and preventive action activities.
  • Assist with containment and root-cause investigations for internal and customer quality issues.
  • Participate in process improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
  • Identify recurring quality problems and communicate trends to Quality and Operations leadership.
  • Assist with developing and updating control plans, inspection plans, and standard work.
  • Work closely with production teams to identify opportunities to reduce scrap, rework, variation, and customer defects.
Desired Qualifications
  • Two or more years of manufacturing quality experience are preferred.
  • Experience with an ISO 9001 Quality Management System is preferred.
  • Experience with document control systems or Quality Management System software is preferred.
  • Experience with corrective action and root-cause analysis is preferred.
  • Experience with internal or customer audits is preferred.
  • Experience with control plans, PFMEA, inspection plans, and work instructions is preferred.
  • Experience with statistical process control is preferred.
  • Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing is preferred.
  • Experience with coordinate measuring machine or other automated inspection equipment is preferred.
  • Experience in die casting, computer numerical control machining, metalworking, or other discrete manufacturing environments is preferred.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Technician or similar certification is preferred.
