  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Human Factors, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in ergonomics, human factors, and/or control switchgear in the automotive R&D space
  • Familiarity with CAN/LIN-based automotive electrical architectures, and awareness of ISO 11898
  • Familiarity with CATIA, Teamcenter, and/or other CAD-based visualization software
  • Familiarity with JACK and/or RAMSIS ergonomics software
  • Knowledge of user-centered design principles, usability testing, and user research methodologies
  • Familiarity with automotive industry standards and regulations related to physical controls, such as FMVSS and NHTSA Driver Distraction
  • Experience with graphic design, visual communication, and animation tools (e.g., Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, etc.) is desirable
  • Strong communication
Responsibilities
  • Help lead the customer-level physical switchgear selection strategy throughout the Scout product line
  • Work with the digital user experience (UX) team on the complementing digital asset strategy for physical controls
  • Advise other teams in Scout on ergonomics principles
  • Develop requirements and best practices for Human Factors at Scout Motors
  • Conduct internal customer clinics and benchmark competitive vehicle sets
  • Work with design and engineering teams to develop stowage concepts
  • Collaborate with critical teams in the development process
