Requirements
  • A post-secondary diploma or degree in marketing, business development, career development, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in employer engagement, recruitment, or workforce development.
  • A proven track record of working with diverse client populations and building employer partnerships.
  • Strong communication, mathematical, judgment, problem-solving, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, customer relationship management systems, and digital tools.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting.
  • Employment requires satisfactory vulnerable sector screening, references, and proof of education.
Responsibilities
  • Develop tailored employer engagement strategies to support hiring needs and promote inclusive practices.
  • Advocate for diverse hiring practices and create opportunities for inclusion groups.
  • Conduct in-person employer outreach, including site visits, to build partnerships and identify job opportunities.
  • Maintain an updated job registry of current openings and employer contacts.
  • Advocate for job carving opportunities to create customized roles aligned with clients’ skills and abilities.
  • Align recruitment efforts with client goals and ensure sustainable placements and job starts.
  • Meet key performance indicators for job starts and placements.
  • Support clients during employment activities, including interviews, as required.
  • Collaborate with Career Specialists to match clients with suitable roles.
  • Collaborate with Retention Specialists to incorporate retention strategies during job development.
  • Oversee onboarding and provide ongoing support for successful placements and job starts.
  • Follow up with employers and clients to monitor progress and address challenges related to long-term job maintenance.
  • Facilitate direct referrals and maintain employer-client relationships.
  • Plan and execute employer-focused job fairs, workshops, networking sessions, and related events.
  • Plan and facilitate meet-and-greet events connecting employers with job-ready clients.
  • Engage employers during events to strengthen partnerships and employment opportunities.
  • Track and report event outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate case notes using case management systems in compliance with funder and organizational standards.
  • Monitor and effectively use allocated placement funding.
  • Manage and track contracts, claims, and expenditures using mathematical and negotiation skills.
  • Compile reports on placement success rates, employer satisfaction, and retention outcomes.
  • Define and track employer success metrics related to inclusive hiring.
  • Collect and manage employer claims, contracts, and proof-of-employment documentation.
  • Stay informed about labour market trends, inclusive hiring practices, and employment legislation.
  • Use data analytics to improve placement outcomes and meet performance-based funding goals.
  • Develop recruitment strategies addressing barriers faced by clients with complex needs.
  • Create customized engagement plans for small and medium-sized businesses to address barriers to inclusive hiring.
  • Participate in professional development related to inclusive hiring, data-driven engagement, and employer-client relationship management.
  • Adhere to workplace policies and maintain professionalism.
  • Maintain an on-camera presence during virtual meetings.
  • Work in a hybrid model with at least two in-office days per week and attend additional onsite activities as required.
  • Travel within the Greater Toronto Area for employer site visits, training, networking events, and community outreach.
  • Work evenings and weekends when needed to support program goals or employer relationships.
  • Replace work-from-home days with in-office or offsite attendance when organizational needs require it.
  • Perform additional tasks supporting organizational needs and program delivery.
Desired Qualifications
  • Certification in career development, such as Certified Career Development Professional, and/or human resources certification.
  • Knowledge of local labour markets and workforce needs.
  • Multilingual capabilities, including French, Spanish, Mandarin, or Arabic.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for travel within the Greater Toronto Area.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
