Requirements

Strong ability in plumbing and mechanical assembly to a high degree of precision
Good knowledge of domestic plumbing systems and an understanding of the theory behind components and piping layouts
Ability to read P&IDs and follow them to install systems or build assemblies
Experience in a workshop environment, using a wide range of power tools and hand tools
Experience leading a small team in practical tasks
Willingness to learn new skills and gain qualifications relevant to the electrification of heating technologies
Experience fault finding in plumbed systems
F-gas qualification or hands-on experience with refrigeration systems
Brazing and welding skills
Experience in creating a bill of materials from P&IDs and 3D models
Experience using AutoCAD or Solidworks
CNC machinery and fabrication shop experience
Experience with electrical assembly work

We are looking for an experienced domestic or commercial plumber to work closely with an established Research and Development team of design engineers and help us strengthen our in-house prototyping capability.

What you’ll do

Work closely with mechanical and electrical design engineers to assemble and optimise new products related to the electrification of heat.
Work in the state of the art Octopus Energy Research & Development Centre, based in Slough
Join an established team of Mechanical and Control Engineers
Use your hands-on skills to turn concept designs into prototypes and finished products
Build test rigs and assist with testing activities

What you’ll need
