Requirements
  • Progress toward or completion of a bachelor's degree, with concentrations in actuarial science, business, international studies, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field preferred.
  • Currently enrolled student status, with an expected graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.
  • Strong academic achievement demonstrated through rigorous coursework and ability to balance extracurricular activities.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States permanently and on an ongoing basis without sponsorship now or in the future.
Responsibilities
  • Draft reports and other communications from input provided by local Mercer consultants, and liaise with Mercer consultants globally to prepare initial draft responses to client questions about non-U.S. benefits.
  • Work with the project manager on significant multi-country projects, which may include new country benefit setups, benchmarking reports, international benefit program pooling, and program implementation.
  • Serve as a day-to-day contact and liaison for global benefits coordination; communicate timelines and deliverables; consolidate information for review by more senior consultants; and develop queries about local consultants' input for discussion with the project manager.
  • Assist senior consultants with reviewing client needs, recommending suitable approaches, and helping implement benefit program strategies.
  • Develop knowledge of the global vendor marketplace, plan designs, and renewal process for health and risk group benefit programs.
  • Manage an internship research project on global benefits trends and present findings at the end of the internship.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with data analytics and project management.
  • Intellectual curiosity, including seeking opportunities to develop new skills and applying critical thinking to solve problems.
