Suncor Energy is a Canadian energy company that operates across the oil sands, upstream and downstream oil and gas, energy trading, and investments in lower-emission options. It produces synthetic crude from oil sands, upgrades it, refines and sells fuels, and also trades energy to optimize its market position. Unlike many peers, it combines a large oil-sands-focused upstream with downstream refining and retail, plus active investments in renewable fuels and power generation. Its goal is to meet current energy demand while shifting toward a lower-emission future through cleaner fuels, power generation, and responsible energy trading.
