Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management with current professional engineer registration in a United States state or territory, or a current licensed architect in a United States state or territory.
  • Ten years of combined experience as a Project Superintendent, Quality Control Manager, Project Manager, Project Engineer, or Construction Manager on similar-size and type construction projects, including major trades.
  • Four years of experience as a Quality Control Manager.
  • USACE CQM Certification, or ability to obtain it within 90 days of hire.
  • A current valid driver's license and clean driving record, with qualification to operate a vehicle under the Company's Driving Policy.
  • Ability to pass drug, driving, and background screenings.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and submit daily Contractor Production Reports and maintain the quality-control submittal log.
  • Ensure that safety inspections are performed.
  • Maintain updated as-built drawings, testing plans, and testing logs on site, and ensure all testing is performed according to the contract.
  • Certify and sign the statement on each invoice that all work covered by the invoice has been completed according to contract requirements.
  • Ensure that required keys, operation and maintenance manuals, warranty certificates, and as-built drawings are submitted to the Owner.
  • Develop and administer the project quality-control plan in coordination with the Project Manager, Project Engineer, and Project Superintendent.
  • Enforce project quality-control plans and associated standards.
  • Maintain a site presence at all times during progress of the work.
  • Conduct daily utilization and maintain the Federal Client reporting software.
  • Lead and document weekly quality-control meetings and provide written minutes as required by project-specific contract documents.
  • Write daily quality-control reports documenting conformance with project standards and address non-conformances in a timely manner.
  • Manage, schedule, review, and certify all submittals for client review and approval.
  • Prepare and track RFIs and DCVRs for submission to the client and designer.
  • Conduct preparatory, initial, and follow-up meetings to establish the required standards of care for each definable feature of work.
  • Verify and document that project materials conform to approved submittals, are handled and stored appropriately, and are acceptable for use.
  • Conduct preconstruction meetings with subcontractors and the Project Superintendent before each new phase of work to discuss quality issues.
  • Perform project inspections required for compliance with the construction contract.
  • Schedule, document, and maintain logs of required code and independent inspections.
  • Document, correct, and re-inspect non-conformances before work is completed.
  • Conduct periodic follow-up inspections to verify compliance with contract documents and approved submittals.
  • Perform punch-out and pre-final inspections, participate in final inspections, establish deficiency lists, and ensure deficiencies are corrected before final inspection.
  • Assemble and forward project closeout documents to the Project Manager.
  • Stop work when necessary to resolve matters affecting safety, quality, or the logical progress of work.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Coordinate with project-level safety personnel.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with the United States Army Corps of Engineers is preferred.
