Requirements
  • Prior food service work is preferred but not required.
  • Previous high-volume kitchen experience is preferred but not required.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old per licensure requirements.
  • A valid Indiana driver's license and a driving record that meets Damar's insurance-carrier eligibility requirements are required for positions requiring driving.
  • Applicants must be clear of felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect, or other disqualifying criminal convictions.
  • Applicants must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
  • Applicants must favorably meet and maintain Damar's background-screening requirements.
  • Applicants must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods and occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
  • Applicants must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Applicants must be able to operate office equipment, including a computer keyboard.
  • Applicants must be able to travel to other locations using private or commercial transportation.
  • Applicants must communicate effectively to exchange information.
  • Applicants must recognize and respond appropriately to client behaviors, staff instructions, safety concerns, and emergencies, including unpredictable behaviors.
  • Regular and acceptable attendance is an essential function of the position.
  • Each essential function must be performed satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
  • Wash dishes and other dishware in preparation for future meal service.
  • Store dishes and dishware in the proper storage areas to ensure workspace efficiency.
  • Assist with breaking down and preparing carts for meal service.
  • Complete assigned cleaning duties, including sweeping and mopping, to ensure workspace safety.
  • Provide necessary assistance to Dietary staff so meals are prepared for clients on time.
  • Support all areas of kitchen activities while maintaining health and safety standards.
