Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Three years of professional development, fundraising, or external relations experience.
  • Knowledge of advancement, donor, or alumni relations policies and procedures, and applicable federal, state, and other laws, rules, regulations, and ordinances.
  • Skill in problem solving and strategic planning.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Skill in using Microsoft Office and Google Suite products.
  • Ability to develop and administer new policies and procedures.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
  • Ability to interact with donors and senior-level executives and administrators.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and adhere strongly to deadlines.
  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours, with frequent local travel and occasional national travel.
  • Proof of ongoing eligibility to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in achieving corporate and foundation giving goals for the A. James Clark School of Engineering.
  • Represent the school strategically to corporate and foundation communities.
  • Cultivate and solicit new, multifaceted institutional partnerships at all levels.
  • Maximize return on investment by corporate and foundation partners.
  • Work with all eight engineering departments and several school units, programs, and projects.
  • Advise department chairs and school leadership on best practices for engaging volunteer boards.
  • Solicit gifts from corporate, foundation, and institutional donors giving a minimum of $25,000.
  • Develop a prospect pipeline and related strategies with the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations.
  • Manage and continually enhance the Clark School Corporate Partners Program.
  • Strengthen relationships with current and prospective Corporate Partners Program members.
  • Solicit membership gifts, provide benefits and member support, ensure proper recognition, and oversee Corporate Partner events.
  • Provide strategic and administrative fundraising support for student groups and competition teams.
  • Advise student groups and competition teams on their case for support and sponsor communications.
  • Support Engineering Advancement Office programs, including the Capstone Design Expo.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in higher education and/or industry.
  • Demonstrated success establishing and stewarding relationships with corporations.
  • A proven fundraising track record, especially with gifts above $50,000.
