Requirements
  • A high school education is required.
  • The employee must be able to work in a safe and alert manner.
  • The employee must take ownership of their own safety and the safety of residents.
  • The employee must disclose any medication that could impair their ability to perform the job safely or competently.
  • The employee must be prompt and able to perform the required duties on a regular, predictable basis.
Responsibilities
  • Perform dish and pot washing and general cleaning duties in the kitchen and dining room areas.
  • Assist with ordering and storing food and non-food products.
  • Set up and maintain the pot- and dish-washing area.
  • Distribute and store clean pots, dishes, and utensils.
  • Clean and sanitize production equipment, work surfaces, and the kitchen according to cleaning schedules and procedures.
  • Empty trash containers as required.
  • Assist with food preparation as directed by the supervisor.
  • Notify the Director of Food and Beverage of malfunctioning kitchen equipment or appliances.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen.
  • Attend required community meetings and participate in Life Enrichment activities when able.
  • Complete all required courses in adherence with HRA University.
  • Become familiar with how to report a missing person using the Safe Return program or equivalent.
  • Become familiar with the steps for fire evacuation.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for community residents.
  • Complete the required Level 2 background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience cooking for large groups is a plus.
  • Knowledge of state food-handling and kitchen regulations is preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and fire and safety procedures is preferred.
