Nasuni delivers first-of-its-kind operational File Data Platform for the AI era with the additions of AI Activate, Enterprise Search, Resilio 6.0, and DryvIQ.

Nasuni delivers first-of-its-kind operational File Data Platform for the AI era with the additions of AI Activate, Enterprise Search, Resilio 6.0, and DryvIQ. Unlocks the Value of Unstructured Data for People and AI, Lowers Infrastructure and AI Costs, Strengthens Resilience, and Improves Productivity October 6, 2026 BOSTON - October 6, 2026 - Nasuni, a leading AI infrastructure company purpose-built for unstructured data, today announced the general availability of AI Activate and Resilio 6.0, with Enterprise Search rolling out to customers later this quarter. Combined with the recent acquisition of DryvIQ, these capabilities bring content intelligence, automated governance, high-performance file access and search, and governed AI activation together in the Nasuni File Data Platform. Together, they create the first-of-its-kind operational file data platform to manage, protect, and activate unstructured data at scale from a single global namespace. People and AI work from the same current data. No separate copy for AI. No permissions to rebuild. As AI models become more accessible, competitive advantage is shifting to what enterprises uniquely own: their proprietary data and context. Much of it lives in constantly changing operational files that remain difficult for AI to understand, access, and use safely. The result: the majority of enterprises say their AI projects are not meeting objectives, according to Nasuni research across 1,000 organizations. Gartner(R), in their article entitled How to Architect Your Enterprise Data Stack for AI at Scale, says "traditional data management can't deliver the speed, scale, or trust required to support enterprise AI." Additionally, "over 75% of organizations now prioritize AI-ready data investments, citing data readiness as a top barrier to AI success."* "Enterprise AI has moved past the hype and on to the hard part," said Sam King, Chief Executive Officer at Nasuni. "Many organizations have achieved broad adoption of LLMs, but turning that usage into measurable business value is proving much harder. Rising token costs, limited production-scale deployments, and data governance that has not kept pace are exposing the real challenge: your advantage is not the model, but your proprietary data, your business context, your enterprise intelligence. Most companies don't fully understand the data they have, and cannot activate it for AI safely. That is what we set out to solve: helping enterprises understand the data they have and put their own intelligence to work securely. Today, we are delivering on that promise with capabilities built on our proven file data platform architecture. We are excited to keep innovating with our customers and partners to further advance this first-of-its-kind platform." New capabilities for the Nasuni File Data Platform: * Content Intelligence and Governance: The recently acquired DryvIQ extends Nasuni's ability to understand, manage, and protect file data across more than 40 repositories, including Microsoft 365, Google Drive, Box, Amazon S3, and on-premises NAS. DryvIQ classifies content across 550 file formats and 75+ languages, identifies PII, PHI, and PCI data, and scans hundreds of TB per day. Enterprises can understand what they have, identify and classify what is valuable, risky, redundant, obsolete, or trivial, and apply automated governance policies across the broader data estate. * Governed AI Access: AI Activate, generally available since September 30, connects AI directly to enterprise file data through the open Model Context Protocol (MCP). AI Activate is powered by a metadata and content index, so AI spends less time and fewer tokens searching for relevant data and more reasoning on the right data. Permissions are enforced before AI sees any content, allowing MCP compatible AI platforms and agents to work from live operational files rather than a separate copy. * Enterprise Search: Rolling out to customers soon, this new offering adds fully hosted, permission-aware full-text search across the operational file environment, making the same enterprise knowledge discoverable by people and accessible to AI. * High-Speed Edge Delivery: Resilio 6.0 extends the Nasuni platform to the far edge, using peer-to-peer distribution to move and deliver governed file data at speeds of up to 200 Gbps on commodity hardware. No VPN. No specialized caching appliances. No dedicated infrastructure. Teams at construction sites, studios, field offices, and survey vessels can work with globally managed file data at local speed. "Every architectural decision we have made comes back to one principle: one governed copy of the data, wherever the business needs it," said Nick Burling, Chief Product Officer at Nasuni. "A global namespace, immutable versioning, native permission enforcement, and customer-owned object storage let enterprises meet sovereignty and residency requirements without fragmenting their environment into regional silos. It also means security teams are not approving a new data pipeline every time the business adopts an AI tool. The permissions and controls already in place carry forward automatically, to people and to agents alike." Real-World customer results. Nasuni customers are already reducing infrastructure costs, accelerating recovery, and improving productivity, while extending their data foundations to support AI apps and agents. * McKim and Creed consolidated 27 file servers onto Nasuni, with remote engineers reporting a 50% productivity improvement in early Resilio trials. The firm is now connecting its internal AI platform, built on Azure Foundry, through AI Activate to data that represents decades of project history. * Wood has moved from a fragmented legacy environment to a governed global platform and is now able to leverage AI Activate to connect enterprise AI tools to its file data. "It's become less of a support conversation and more of an enablement conversation for the business," said Jamie Alberts, CISO and VP of IT, Wood. "With AI Activate, we can now use a front end that everyone already has, whether it's Copilot, ChatGPT or Claude, and it can reach in and actually perform these functions for our users." * Omnicom Group has operated Nasuni at petabyte scale for more than a decade, eliminating backup infrastructure for unstructured data and reducing ransomware recovery from days to minutes. The company can now activate its unstructured data for AI through AI Activate and Enterprise Search. PSYCHIC: A framework for AI data readiness. As enterprises race to prepare their data for AI, there is little agreement on what "AI-ready data" actually means. Nasuni introduced PSYCHIC, a vendor-neutral framework to cut through that confusion and provide a common way for organizations to understand, discuss, and evaluate their AI data requirements. Based on research across 1,000 enterprises, industry analyst conversations, and customer feedback, PSYCHIC defines seven properties: * Proprietary: Can AI access the unique data, knowledge, and context of your business? * Secure: Can AI use the unstructured data safely? * Yours: Do you maintain control over what happens with the data? * Current: Is AI working with the latest version of what is happening now? * Hybrid: Can you bring your AI to your data wherever it resides? * Indexed: Can AI find the right information, quickly and efficiently? * Continuous: Can AI access and use the accumulated knowledge embedded in years of files and projects? The framework gives AI councils, IT, data, security, and business leaders a shared language to identify gaps, align priorities, and determine what their data foundation needs to support AI apps and agents. * Watch a video from Nasuni Chief Product Officer Nick Burling * Explore the Nasuni File Data Platform at nasuni.com/platform * Learn about PSYCHIC at nasuni.com/psychic *Gartner article, How to Architect Your Enterprise Data Stack for AI at Scale, July 17, 2026. Nasuni receives $25 million growth equity funding from Telstra Ventures; experiences record 2018 Revenue results.

Nasuni receives $25 million growth equity funding from Telstra Ventures; experiences record 2018 Revenue results. September 9, 2026 New Financing Underscores Nasuni's Leadership and 2018 Revenue Success; Fuels Customer and Company Expansion BOSTON - February 19, 2019 - Nasuni, a leading provider of cloud file services, today announced it received $25M in growth equity funding and saw a record-breaking year of revenue and customer expansion. Led by Telstra Ventures, the round also included participation from existing investors Goldman Sachs, Sigma Prime Ventures, North Bridge Venture Partners, and Flybridge Capital Partners. The new financing will further accelerate Nasuni's go-to-market strategy, build upon the company's rapid growth in 2018 and fuel its expansion into new markets. Telstra Ventures is the venture capital arm of Telstra, Australia's largest telecommunications company. Steve Schmidt, partner at Telstra Ventures, said: "Application files, from documents and spreadsheets to CAD and creative files, are the lifeblood of most companies. However, traditional approaches to file management are prohibitively expensive and cannot keep pace with the growth of unstructured data. Nasuni offers a modern, future-proof alternative that radically decreases costs, eliminates the need for costly legacy systems and makes new levels of collaboration possible. Those are outcomes all enterprises need and want." This most recent funding round follows Nasuni's $38M funding in September of 2017 which was led by Goldman Sachs and brings the total funds raised to $145M. With most of the $38M financing remaining on the balance sheet, the additional $25M in financing strongly positions the company to continue to take advantage of this massive market opportunity. Nasuni has continued to deliver record breaking revenue growth, including: * Software subscription revenue increased by 52 percent year-over-year from 2017. * Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) continued to accelerate, achieving a five-year compounded ARR growth rate of 66 percent, with an increase of 120 percent in the last two years alone. * Q4 2018 marked 19 consecutive quarters of positive subscription software revenue growth. Nasuni provides a cloud scale software platform that combines the performance of an on-premise network attached file storage solution (NAS) with cloud economics by integrating with public cloud object storage providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft, Google and high-performance, on-premise solutions from IBM, Dell EMC, and Hitachi to deliver multi-cloud optionality along with global file sharing and collaboration. Nasuni offers NAS, backup, archive, remote office replication, and disaster recovery in a single platform that's infinitely scalable. CIO's can now consolidate their legacy NAS and save up to 60 percent on hardware while their distributed teams can enjoy global file sharing and collaboration. This is an entirely new approach to file storage which has quickly resonated with global customers such as Cushman & Wakefield, Jabil, TBWA, Ulta Beauty and others. "In 2018, we continued to experience phenomenal growth," said Paul Flanagan, president and CEO, Nasuni. "And in addition to seeing record expansion within our current customer accounts we also signed market-leading enterprises in numerous industries. At the same time, we are also making investments in our people, our product and partnerships that are the foundation of the great company that we are building." Additional 2018 highlights from Nasuni include: * Executive team expansion: Nasuni named Cheryle Cushion, a proven industry veteran marketer with a celebrated and highly successful track record in helping young companies scale and accelerate their go-to-market initiatives, its new vice president of marketing. * Product innovation: Nasuni introduced the industry's first multi-cloud solution that combines primary and archive file storage and automatically reduces costs as files age - an innovation that eliminates the need for IT departments to constantly move files to less expensive, slower storage tiers. Cold files are automatically reclassified to a lower cost-per-terabyte rate but remain in the same location for analytics and can be immediately accessed by users if the need arises. * Partner integration with AWS, Varonis and other leading companies: Nasuni achieved Amazon Web Services (AWS) Storage Competency status for primary storage use cases and is now an AWS Well-Architected Partner within the AWS Partner Network. Additionally, Nasuni now integrates with the Varonis(R) Data Security Platform. * Employee Growth: The company has increased its employee base 85 percent over the past two years and is currently exploring opening new office space in Boston metro-west with the intention of increasing its engineering team by 50 percent in the next 12 months. * Facility Expansion: The company opened a new office in Durham, N.C. to attract and hire engineering and customer support professionals with significant experience in mission-critical, enterprise technologies. * Global Expansion: Nasuni Cloud File Services is now deployed in more than 6,000 locations across 70 countries. Significant growth also occurred in Europe, where Nasuni continues to expand and now has offices in Germany and the U.K. that serve representatives throughout the region. Nasuni also established a presence in Australia in 2018 as the company began to expand into AsiaPac. * Channel Growth: Nasuni continued to strengthen its go to market strategy and expanded its engagements with numerous partners throughout the world, including Ahead, Bytes Technology Group, CANCOM, CDI, COOLSPIRiT, CLOUDIO, Insight, Materna Information and Communications, MTI Technology, Nephos Technologies, RoundTower, Softcat, and Quorum. Notably, longstanding partners CDW and SHI continued to see dramatic growth in the number of customer engagements with Nasuni. * Industry recognition: Nasuni was featured in the Gartner Hype Cycle for Hybrid Infrastructure Services, 2018 as a key vendor in the Hybrid Cloud Storage category, the first point on the graphic representing the most innovative, "On the Rise" technologies. Additionally, NASUNI ARCHIVE was named a TechTarget SearchStorage 2018 Products of the Year finalist in the Backup and DR software and services category. PR Newswire BOSTON, April 7, 2026 As AI Adoption Accelerates, Hardware Costs Rise, and Distributed Teams Rely on Resilient File Access, Nasuni Delivers the Foundation Enterprises Need BOSTON, April 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - Nasuni, a leading unstructured data platform for enterprise teams and AI, today unveiled its expanded brand and product strategy (including new Active Everywhere and AI Activate offerings), reflecting its evolution to support the future of collaborative work. Building on recent momentum, from the acquisition of Resilio, to the opening of a new innovation center, and an expanded multicloud ecosystem, Nasuni is investing across the business to meet the operational needs of its customers in the AI era. As enterprises adopt AI-driven workflows across distributed teams, they face infrastructure volatility, rising hardware costs, data governance challenges, and ransomware threats. The operational file layer - where critical data like designs, financial records, project documentation, and media assets live - has become more mission-critical than ever. "The enterprise technology landscape is at an inflection point, and our platform's core architecture was built for this moment," said Sam King, CEO of Nasuni. "Nasuni has been a pioneer in cloud file storage since its founding. With built-in permissions, versioning, protection, and a global namespace, we are now also uniquely designed to power enterprise work in the AI era. We are proud to support over 1300 customers across industries that impact our day-to-day lives such as manufacturing, life sciences, AEC, energy, and media. Our enhanced brand identity, platform capabilities, and recent investments reflect our commitment to those customers and our dedication to bringing leading solutions for unstructured data management to the market." A Brand for the Next Era of Enterprise Work Nasuni's new brand marks the company's evolution from cloud file storage innovator to the unstructured data platform for enterprise teams and AI. The new identity reflects this expanded strategic mission and a belief that the best outcomes happen when enterprise teams are empowered by trusted data and supported by AI on the same governed foundation. Central to this evolution, Nasuni will put its customers at the heart of every story, celebrating the work they do and the impact they make across the industries they serve. "As we scale our global operations, a secure and well-governed data foundation is essential," said Dan Poon, IT Infrastructure & Security at Marmon Crane Services (a Berkshire Hathaway company). "We are focused on improving how operational data is accessed and leveraged across regions to drive efficiency and support our AI and automation strategy. Nasuni is a strategic partner in helping us unify and manage unstructured data, enabling faster access to critical information while maintaining the governance, security, and compliance standards our business demands." New Platform Capabilities: Faster Teams, Smarter AI, One Trusted Foundation Nasuni is introducing two new platform capabilities designed to make enterprise teams more productive and give the AI systems that support them governed access to the same trusted file data foundation. * Resilio Active Everywhere v6 (Preview Q2, GA in Q3 2026): * v6 of the Active Everywhere solution enhances integration with the Nasuni platform, delivering edge teams LAN-speed access to governed file data without WAN optimization appliances, or proprietary caching hardware broadly across the Nasuni customer base. Operating under Nasuni's existing namespace, permissions, and governance, Active Everywhere can simplify edge infrastructure, eliminating hardware costs that are rising fast. * AI Activate (invite-only preview Q2, GA in Q4 2026): AI Activate extends the value of the Nasuni platform to AI agents and large language models with the same governed, permission-aware access that enterprise teams rely on every day. Via Model Context Protocol (MCP), any authorized AI tool can discover, read, and act on file data within existing trust boundaries without separate data pipelines, data copies, or new infrastructure. AI works directly on file data, because Nasuni's core architecture is also uniquely suited for building data pipelines for AI. "The era of solving file infrastructure problems with more hardware is over," said Nick Burling, Chief Product Officer at Nasuni. "Supply is constrained, costs are rising, and enterprises need a better model. Nasuni takes a different path entirely: software-defined, cloud-native, providing the operational file layer where your data already lives. In addition, AI without trusted context creates noise and risk. Nasuni is designed to deliver permission-aware, continuously indexed file intelligence that AI can safely act on, grounded in the same source of truth enterprise teams depend on every day."
