Requirements

  • The ability to proceed independently under standard practices and procedures and refer questions or problems to a supervisor is required.
Responsibilities
  • Gather, verify, and document demographic and financial data on patients.
  • Demonstrate the organization's mission, vision, beliefs, core values, and standards of behavior.
  • Provide patients with information required by federal mandates, including Patient Rights and Responsibilities, Advance Care Directives, and important messages from Medicare or the campus.
  • Receive and provide shift reports at the beginning and end of shifts.
  • Obtain consents, assignments of benefits, and releases.
  • Obtain information about patients' religious preferences and affiliations.
  • Practice safe transport of patients.
  • Initiate inquiries and ensure receipt of pre-certification and pre-authorization for services.
Desired Qualifications
  • Medical terminology coursework is preferred.
  • Customer service relations experience is preferred.
  • Office experience is preferred.
