Requirements
  • RCIS, RCES, CEPS, or RT(R)CI certification is required within the first two years of hire and must be maintained.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification is required from the American Heart Association or an American Red Cross CPR/AED provider.
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required; an Associate's degree or equivalent is also listed in the minimum requirements.
  • At least one year of relevant experience is required.
  • Graduation from an accredited Invasive Cardiovascular Technology program, or equivalent education and experience with the required certification, is required.
  • Alternatively, graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology and one year of radiologic experience is required.
  • The position requires the ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed.
  • The position requires the physical ability to stand, sit, walk, climb stairs, work in confined spaces, perform repetitive and fine motor movements, lift or carry up to 50 pounds unassisted, and exert up to 50 pounds of force.
  • The position requires corrected 20/40 vision, adequate hearing, peripheral vision, depth perception, color discrimination, and tactile and olfactory sensory function.
  • The employee must be physically qualified for respirator use and able to work in a latex-safe environment.
  • Employment authorization is verified through the federal E-Verify program.
Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular disease during invasive procedures.
  • Perform scrub duties and related procedures for cardiac interventions, left heart catheterization, and right and left heart catheterization without assistance.
  • Perform scrub duties and related procedures for peripheral diagnostics or interventions with minimal assistance.
  • Scrub, gown, glove, and set up the back table with the necessary equipment.
  • Record cardiac intervention and catheterization hemodynamics accurately.
  • Monitor procedures and document inventory used and the order of events in the Mac-Lab event log.
  • Maintain electrocardiogram setup and rhythm monitoring.
  • Maintain basic hemodynamic setup and waveform monitoring.
  • Assist fellow staff members in preparing the room for safe and effective patient care.
  • Perform required checks on all safety equipment.
  • Ensure adequate supplies are available to perform procedures.
  • Transport patients alone or with a fellow staff member.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with telemetry and arterial and venous sheath removal.
