Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Some college coursework in accounting, finance, or business is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts and deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills are required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Detail-oriented approach and strong problem-solving abilities are required.
Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of assigned customer accounts to ensure timely payment of freight invoices.
  • Proactively contact customers regarding outstanding balances and follow up on past-due accounts.
  • Communicate with consignees to obtain proof of delivery and other required documentation to support billing and collections.
  • Monitor accounts to ensure compliance with established payment terms and credit limits.
  • Research and resolve billing discrepancies in coordination with dispatch, operations, and customers.
  • Maintain accurate account records and collection notes within the accounting system.
  • Escalate delinquent accounts as needed in accordance with company policy.
  • Support month-end closing processes related to accounts receivable.
