Are you a recent college graduate passionate about finding stories in data and sharing them with the world? Are you interested in exploring the intersections of journalism, marketing, and research? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you. As an Industry Research and Communications Intern at Centerfield, you’ll be at the forefront of building our brands’ authority online and communicating our original research insights with news media and consumers.
How You’ll Contribute…
- Conduct Industry Research: Explore consumer trends, market dynamics, and industry insights to craft newsworthy articles and whitepapers. This work is vital for informing the public and enhancing our brand’s credibility through well-founded, informative content.
- Help Drive Links to Our Sites and Boost SEO: Collaborate with our PR team to understand and harness the value of backlinks as part of our search engine optimization strategy. You’ll focus on ideating and developing attention-grabbing research content on trending topics that garner attention from reputable media outlets.
- Communicate Stories with Consumer Data: Specialize in finding stories in consumer surveys and meaningful public data sets. Your role involves sourcing and integrating varied data to reveal valuable insights about consumer behavior. Utilize these findings to enrich our industry research and whitepapers with real-world relevance.
What We’re Looking For…
- Clear Communication and Writing Skills: Showcase proficiency in writing and copy editing, ensuring the effective and persuasive communication of analytical findings and insights to various stakeholders.
- Instincts About What Makes Interesting Content: You’re a voracious news consumer with a drive to discover trending topics people connect with emotionally and want to discuss online.
- Analytical Proficiency: Utilize analytics skills to interpret data and communicate insights, transforming numbers into compelling narratives. Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Excel, R, or Tableau is a valuable plus!
- Effective Organizational and Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively and solve problems decisively. You excel in collaboration, working seamlessly with remote and in-person teammates.
- Eagerness to Learn! Someone who wants to jump in and learn new skills and immediately apply them to real-world problems and products
- You’re a rising senior or new graduate who expects to complete their degree in Spring 2024 (and you’re seeking a degree in Marketing, Digital Media, Journalism, Public Relations, or a relevant field).
- You are interested in learning about the intersections of marketing, data journalism, and public relations and are eager to learn more about Centerfield’s industry! You have some academic or project experience in journalism and can provide writing samples.
- You are local to our Playa Vista HQ and are willing to come into the office 3 days a week!

This is a 12-week paid internship starting in June 2024 and ending in August 2024. The internship program will be 24 hours per week where you will come into the office Tuesdays, Wednesday, and Thursdays.
