Requirements
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
- Three to five years of dining room or restaurant wait staff experience is required.
- Working knowledge of basic kitchen operations and food safety standards is required.
- Previous management or team leadership experience is required.
- Strong organization and time management skills are required.
- Ability to manage food, supplies, and labor budgets is required.
- Ability to resolve problems involving dissatisfied customers or team members is required.
- Previous experience in banquets or special event planning is required.
- Basic computer skills, including use of programs such as Microsoft Office, are required.
- Ability to work varied schedules, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, is required.
- Ability to handle multiple jobs and priorities is required.
- Ability to delegate and hold team members accountable in an efficient and respectful manner is required.
Responsibilities
- Provide a high level of customer service and promote a fine dining atmosphere.
- Interview, coach, train, and develop dining room team members, and help hire new team members while ensuring dining standards are met.
- Provide input for evaluations and disciplinary actions for dining team members.
- Coordinate scheduling for all front-of-house team members.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to use systems, software, and computer programs to ensure operational compliance.
- Assist with purchasing food and alcohol in the Executive Chef’s absence.
- Manage point-of-sale functions using eMenu Choice software.
- Coordinate and lead special events, sales events, and marketing events, and staff them appropriately.
- Establish connections with new residents, ensure satisfaction with meal service, and support their transition into the community.
- Assist the Executive Chef in coordinating guest visits, special parties, and family events for residents.
- Create a strong sense of teamwork and cooperation among team members.
- Assist with pre-meal stand-ups for dining and kitchen team members.
- Help residents transition from home to the community through thoughtful engagement at every level of interaction.
- Build positive, strong relationships with team members and residents.
- Provide excellent customer service.
