  • A minimum high school diploma and at least five years of experience in the construction industry are required.
  • Must be very knowledgeable about different pieces of heavy equipment and their capabilities.
  • Must have strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritize for efficiency.
  • Must be willing to address work issues after work hours.
  • Must be customer-service oriented, maintain a positive attitude, and be willing to handle confrontation.
  • Must be a self-starter willing to take training to improve knowledge and skills.
  • Must have competent computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Outlook, and Viewpoint Construction Software applications.
  • Must be willing to travel occasionally as required to perform job duties.
  • A valid driver's license and good driving record are required.
  • Must be knowledgeable about company safety policies and procedures.
  • Must be knowledgeable in the safe operation of the equipment managed and willing to communicate that knowledge to others.
Responsibilities
  • Process project requests for all types of equipment using calls, reports, jobsite visits, and other information from project representatives.
  • Ensure that appropriate equipment is provided to projects for their applications.
  • Identify alternative methods, new technology, and different ways of completing tasks to fill project needs.
  • Coordinate with the Trucking Department dispatcher, maintenance personnel, and project teams to schedule and complete equipment moves on time.
  • Attend weekly scheduling meetings and internal preconstruction meetings for projects requiring managed equipment.
  • Update and maintain equipment schedules for assigned projects.
  • Monitor equipment utilization and improve it through communication with the field and reduction of outside rental equipment.
  • Notify Support Operations Management of expected shortages or excess equipment.
  • Serve as a liaison between field supervision and maintenance division supervision to maintain equipment.
  • Monitor equipment usage by comparing revenue hours with meter hours using the three-week hour meter report to ensure equipment is billed correctly.
  • Coordinate with department personnel to fill equipment and material needs efficiently.
  • Monitor equipment pieces listed as Available, Temporarily Available, or Down to improve utilization.
  • Maintain accurate equipment location and status information in the computer system.
  • Supervise and mentor others as assigned.
  • Continually improve equipment-management processes through alternative methods, new technology, and suggestions.
