Requirements
  • A Master’s degree in Statistics, Sports Analytics, Sport Science, or a field related to the position is required.
  • Successful teaching experience is required in at least one of the following content areas: statistics, sport science or sport analytics, athlete monitoring, or data management.
  • Experience with statistical software and data analysis tools relevant to sport science, such as R, Python, SPSS, or similar, is required.
  • The candidate must demonstrate the ability to work well and ethically with colleagues.
  • The candidate must demonstrate interest in working in partnership with the university and communities in diverse settings.
Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in statistics, sport analytics, and/or sport science, depending on program needs.
  • Deliver a student-centered learning experience integrating statistical theory, data analysis, and applied sport science with real-world practice in a modern academic setting.
  • Support and maintain a curriculum aligned with relevant accrediting standards, including those of the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs and the National Strength and Conditioning Association, where applicable.
  • Provide service to the program, department, and college.
  • Advise and mentor students.
  • Contribute to undergraduate and graduate program leadership.
  • Support experiential learning opportunities such as internships or applied analytics projects.
  • Collaborate with community and industry partners.
  • Participate in ongoing program development.
Desired Qualifications
  • Relevant human performance certifications, including Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Certified Performance and Sport Scientist, Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach, USA Weightlifting Level 1, and Functional Movement Screen Level 1.
  • Experience working with accrediting bodies such as the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs and the National Strength and Conditioning Association’s Education Recognition Program.
  • Diverse practical, hands-on experience working in human performance with various athletic entities and sports teams.
  • Experience working with novel technology in human performance and athlete monitoring.
  • Evidence of knowledge or experience incorporating technology into instructional practices.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based teaching practices.
