About the job

Requirements
  • For the Account Director level, 7+ years of progressive public relations and marketing experience, including significant corporate communications or digitally minded public relations client leadership experience.
  • At least two years of experience serving as the strategic account lead for multiple complex clients.
  • Deep experience in the enterprise technology sector and the ability to translate technical capabilities for broad audiences.
  • A proven track record of securing Tier-1 national business and industry trade media opportunities.
  • For the Senior Account Director level, 10-12+ years of progressive agency and/or in-house communications marketing experience, including extensive experience leading teams and managing high-profile accounts.
  • For the Senior Account Director level, the ability to independently build meaningful, multi-layered client strategies and plans from loose executive direction.
  • Strong advanced understanding of agency operations, budget management, resource allocation, and team-utilization constraints.
  • Comfort handling difficult staff conversations, troubleshooting team challenges with Human Resources, and developing and executing Performance Improvement Plans.
  • Global account-management experience navigating international media landscapes.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as a trusted lead across high-profile accounts and provide strategic direction to senior client executives.
  • Develop long-term public relations plans aligned with client business objectives and navigate difficult conversations or provide productive client pushback when necessary.
  • Conduct risk assessments and draft proactive communications during client crises.
  • Interview executives to build thought-leadership platforms and translate complex technical innovations into media-friendly narratives.
  • Own account health, revenue forecasting, and resource allocation to optimize team utilization and minimize over- or under-service.
  • Oversee client contracts, key performance indicators, and monthly and annual scopes of work.
  • Build long-term media and engagement strategies across media, analyst, and social landscapes.
  • Maintain editorial quality control across the portfolio and use established relationships with Tier-1 national business and trade media.
  • Identify expansion opportunities within the current client roster to drive organic business development and maintain high client retention.
  • Directly manage, coach, and inspire team members; establish professional goals; and deliver targeted training to upskill junior and mid-level practitioners.
  • At the Senior Account Director level, lead teams in adopting emerging public relations technologies and alternative communication channels.
  • At the Senior Account Director level, expand leadership responsibilities into global public relations management.

  • Global account-management experience navigating international media landscapes is highly preferred.
