Requirements

A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
Be SCI eligible and willing to obtain a polygraph.
Currently hold, or be able to attain within 30 days of contract start, DoD 8570 IAT II and CSSP Infrastructure Support certifications; equivalent certifications covering both requirements are acceptable.
Have 8–12 years of relevant technical experience.
Have at least 4 years of experience leading AWS cloud development modernization, monitoring, support, and production delivery.
Have at least 4 years of experience leading Linux development engineering and production delivery.
Have at least 4 years of experience supporting or leading Agile Development engineering programs for Government program customers, including planning, assigning, and coordinating engineering team tickets.
Have at least 4 years of experience working in classified Government environments.
Understand modern architectures, including cloud, and have full-stack experience with modern application development environments, including backend development, modern user-interface frameworks, relational databases, microservices, containers, scripting, and developing applications for big-data platforms and integrating data sources.
Have experience provisioning, configuring, and managing development, test, and production hosting environments.
Have expertise in one or more programming or scripting languages: Java, Python, PHP, JavaScript, Bash, or PowerShell.
Have experience with requirements traceability; documenting technical architectures; securely configuring technology stacks and commercial off-the-shelf/government off-the-shelf software; planning and estimating design, development, and deployment of new capabilities; and testing and integrating new capabilities.
Have experience with Government Assessment and Authorization following the Risk Management Framework.
Have excellent communication skills and regularly interact with the Contractor Program Manager and Government leadership.

Responsibilities

Represent the engineering team in customer meetings.
Plan quarterly Agile Development Planning commitments.
Drive technology roadmaps.
Work with the AnaVation Program Manager to accelerate customer priorities.
Mentor senior, mid-level, and junior engineers.
Support and enhance 10 core application and data services used by multiple Government Agencies, including work with AWS cloud services, modernization of Elastic, RHEL, WSUS, cross-domain integration, and automation.
Plan and estimate staffing, software licensing, and hosting capacity for roadmap projects and capabilities.
Supervise 5–7 direct reports, conduct performance reviews, and support engineering career planning.
Conduct technical interviews for new staff.
Prioritize and review Agile Delivery work in Jira.
Approve timesheets.

Desired Qualifications

A master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
Active SCI clearance with polygraph.
Active CompTIA CySA+ certification or equivalent certifications covering both DoD 8570 IAT II and CSSP Infrastructure Support.
A computing-environment certification such as AWS or Linux certification.
12 years of relevant technical experience.
4 years of experience designing and deploying Elastic data services.

AWS C2S delivery experience.

Salary Range: 85678.38 to 200993.63 (Currency: USD) (Pay period: per-year-salary)

Description of Task to be Performed: AnaVation is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to join our team and support our mission critical customer in Reston, VA. As Lead, you will represent the engineering team in customer meetings, plan quarterly Agile Development Planning commitments, drive technology roadmaps, work with the AnaVation Program Manager to accelerate customer priorities, and mentor senior, mid-level, and junior engineers. This team works with AWS cloud services including modernization of Elastic, RHEL, WSUS, and cross domain integration and automation. Our team supports and enhances 10 core application and data services used by multiple Government Agencies. The Engineering Team includes 15 staff (Systems Integration Engineers, Cloud Engineers, Software Engineers, System Administrators, Database Administrators, Data Scientists, and Information System Security Officers).

This position is responsible for planning/estimating staffing, software licensing, and hosting capacity for roadmap projects and capabilities.

This position is also a personnel supervisor position with 5-7 direct reports including performance reviews, engineering career planning, technical interviews for new staff, Agile Delivery (Jira) prioritization and reviews, and ongoing timesheet approvals.

Required Qualificaitons:

Clearance: SCI Eligible, willing to obtain polygraph
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related technical field
Certifications: Currently hold, or be able to attain certification in the following:
DoD 8570 IAT II and CSSP Infrastructure Support certifications (CompTIA CySA+ preferred or equivalent certifications that cover both requirements acceptable such as Security+ and Cloud+) within 30 days of contract start.
Location: Full time on-site in Reston, VA.

Experience:

8-12 Years of relevant technical experience.
