Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Graduation from a Medical Assistant Program or one year of experience in a clinical setting is required.
  • Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of the hire date.
  • The ability to use and care for equipment including printers, embossers, and computers is required.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with staff and patients is required.
  • The ability to adapt to changing environments is required.
  • The ability to work independently and in a team setting is required.
  • The ability to organize and prioritize work is required.
  • The ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform normal rotation while standing and walking during an 8- to 12-hour shift is required.
  • The ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly is required.
  • The role may require travel between facilities.
  • The role involves working around biohazards and infectious diseases.
Responsibilities
  • Greet and escort patients to exam rooms, obtain initial information, and record vital signs before physician visits.
  • Prepare exam rooms by maintaining cleanliness and ensuring supplies are available.
  • Assist with or perform examinations, tests, and procedures.
  • Schedule appointments and arrange referral contacts as needed.
  • Assist providers during patient examinations and procedures.
  • Educate patients about follow-up expectations.
  • Maintain required quality-control testing logs.
  • Ensure medical equipment is in proper working condition.
  • Assist patients with completing medical documentation.
  • Perform office administrative tasks such as answering phones, taking messages, copying, printing, data entry, assisting with cash deposits, and completing other closing duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • Completion of healthcare education coursework.
  • One year of healthcare experience.
