Requirements
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse license in New York State
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Excellent Communication skills
- Ability to work under supervision, knows limits of job description and learn skills as required
Responsibilities
- Performs resident care according to policy/procedure and standards as delegated by the Nurse Manager, Clinical Coordinator, RN, or Charge Nurse
- Demonstrates appropriate knowledge base when performing resident care
- Provides for the emotional and physical comfort and safety of the resident, family, and/or caregiver
- Observes residents for specific signs/symptoms as instructed by NM, CC, or RN
- Observes for changes in clinical or functional status, and reports changes to NM, CC, or Supervisor in a timely manner
- Assists residents with activities of daily living and any special care needs as indicated by NM, CC, RN, or Charge Nurse for which they are properly educated and trained
- Recognizes and responds to emergent situations efficiently and effectively by managing self, residents, staff, and others appropriately
