Introducing OPSWAT CBOM and AIBOM.

Introducing OPSWAT CBOM and AIBOM. OPSWAT introduces Cryptographic Bill of Materials (CBOM) and AI Bill of Materials (AIBOM) alongside its existing Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) capabilities. By Joseph Nguyen, Product Marketing Manager Oct 7, 2026 On Oct 5, 2026, OPSWAT will roll out CBOM (Cryptographic Bill of Materials) and AIBOM (AI Bill of Materials) alongside its existing SBOM (Software Bill of Materials) capabilities. Both are generally available in MetaDefender Core(TM) V5.23 or later. The release extends software component analysis to include cryptographic assets, AI model provenance, and declared-license information. CBOM: identify cryptography and plan what needs to change. Post-quantum migration starts with a practical question: Which cryptography does its software rely on, and what needs replacing? CISOs, cryptography specialists, and migration teams need an inventory of cryptographic assets within their software to determine this. OPSWAT CBOM helps teams: * Inventory cryptographic assets. Identify algorithms, cryptographic libraries, certificates, protocols, and related key material in supported files * Assess classical and quantum risk separately. Distinguish cryptographic weaknesses under current standards from exposure to quantum attacks, with unknown classifications where reference data is insufficient * Review replacement recommendations. Identify post-quantum alternatives where available, with recommendations tied to their purpose, such as ML-KEM for key establishment and ML-DSA for signatures * Configure cryptographic risk blocking. Optionally block files containing cryptographic assets classified as unsafe CBOM complements SBOM's investigation of software packages and vulnerabilities by providing the cryptographic details needed for post-quantum migration planning. Refer to official OPSWAT CBOM documentation or contact its Support team. AIBOM: Review AI model provenance and licensing. Before adopting a model, AI governance and Legal teams need to establish what the file is, which repositories are known to publish it, and what license information is available. OPSWAT AIBOM provides evidence for those reviews without requiring an external network lookup. OPSWAT AIBOM helps teams: * Identify model artifacts. Recognize supported AI model files and read available metadata from their contents * Match publishing repositories offline. Use a local catalogue to identify known repositories that publish the exact same model bytes, without contacting external services * Surface declared-license information. Report available licenses declared by model registries to support governance and licensing reviews * Apply model-license restrictions. Optionally block files when a model's resolved license matches a selected restriction, independently of software-package license rules Repository matching requires the latest engine package. Refer to official OPSWAT AIBOM documentation or contact its Support team. One workflow, the right report for each team. CBOM and AIBOM are enabled by default, while their blocking controls are opt-in. Teams can collect findings before deciding which restrictions to enforce. CycloneDX and SPDX remain dedicated to SBOM export and enrichment workflows. For unified results containing SBOM, CBOM, and AIBOM, export the complete result as JSON or PDF, or export each inventory separately. Whether investigating a vulnerable package, scoping a cryptographic migration, or reviewing an AI model, teams can use one analysis workflow and share the findings relevant to each decision. MetaDefender netwall(tm) Fend optical diodes: what's new in firmware 4.3.0.

MetaDefender netwall(tm) Fend optical diodes: what's new in firmware 4.3.0. Oct 6, 2026 OPSWAT is rolling out firmware 4.3.0 for the MetaDefender NetWall Fend 5/15 series, adding new protocol support, deeper troubleshooting visibility, and a set of quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes for one of the industry's most deployed hardware data diodes. What's new in firmware 4.3.0. * UDP (User Datagram Protocol) Multicast support, allowing the diode to carry multicast traffic patterns common in industrial monitoring and control environments, where a single data source needs to reach multiple downstream subscribers * Diode-generated Syslog, giving operators a native, standards-based way to monitor diode health and activity and troubleshoot issues faster, without needing separate tooling * MQTT (Message Queuing Telemetry Transport) publisher support for Modbus, BACnet, and LON via JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) conversion, so data from these widely used building- and industrial-automation protocols can be converted and published directly to an MQTT broker for downstream analytics, dashboards, or historian systems Why it matters for OT and industrial network security. As industrial and critical infrastructure operators push more OT data into IT systems for monitoring and analytics, they need a way to do it without opening a path back into protected networks. Firmware 4.3.0 extends what the Fend 5/15 series can carry and how easily operators can monitor it, while preserving the core guarantee of a data diode: data moves one way, and only one way. What are MetaDefender NetWall Fend diodes? MetaDefender NetWall Fend diodes are hardware-enforced, unidirectional security gateways built to protect critical infrastructure, industrial control systems (ICS), and operational technology (OT) networks. Unlike firewalls or software-based segmentation, a data diode physically restricts data flow to one direction, making it impossible for traffic to travel back into a protected network. This makes Fend diodes a common choice for utilities, manufacturing, energy, and other environments where OT (Operational Technology) systems need to share data with IT (Information Technology) networks without exposing themselves to inbound risk. The Fend 5/15 series covers a range of throughput and interface needs, from smaller sensor networks to higher-bandwidth industrial deployments. Frequently asked questions. What is a data diode? A data diode is a hardware device that enforces one-way data transfer between two networks, typically from a secure OT or ICS network to a less trusted IT network. It physically prevents any data from flowing in the reverse direction. Does the Fend 5/15 series support MQTT? Yes. With firmware 4.3.0, the Fend 5/15 series adds MQTT publisher support on the output side with conversion of Modbus, BACnet, and LON data into JSON for publishing to an MQTT broker. Can Fend diodes generate their own log data? Yes. Firmware 4.3.0 introduces diode-generated Syslog, giving operators direct visibility into diode activity for troubleshooting. What is UDP Multicast support used for? UDP Multicast support lets the diode join and send traffic to a multicast group, which is common in industrial environments where one data source needs to reach several downstream systems at once.

OPSWAT partners with Redington to scale critical infrastructure protection across META and CIS.

OPSWAT partners with Redington to scale critical infrastructure protection across META and CIS. October 1, 2026 OPSWAT, a global leader in critical infrastructure protection (CIP) cybersecurity solutions, and Redington, a leading technology aggregator, today announced a distribution partnership covering the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Levant, Türkiye, Africa and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). The partnership combines OPSWAT's CIP portfolio with Redington's on-the-ground sales, technical, warehousing, logistics and financing capabilities. Together, OPSWAT and Redington will widen access to specialised protection for segmented, air-gapped and operational technology (OT) environments across government, defence, banking, telecoms, energy, utilities and other regulated sectors. The agreement will have an initial emphasis on solutions such as MetaDefender Kiosk and MetaDefender Optical Diode for government, defence and OT environments. Redington's local stockholding, logistics infrastructure and in-country technical resources will support the movement and deployment of these solutions across a region in which procurement requirements vary significantly and supply-chain continuity remains under pressure. Its financing capabilities will also help partners pursue complex, multi-stage projects, particularly in frontier markets. Critical infrastructure has become an increasingly visible front in geopolitical conflict, with both cyber and physical incidents demonstrating how rapidly disruption can spread beyond the initial target and particularly affecting growth markets. The World Economic Forum's Global Cybersecurity Outlook 2025 found that 36% of organisations in Africa lacked confidence in their country's preparedness to respond to a major cyber incident affecting critical infrastructure, compared with 15% in Europe and North America. The partnership will enable channel partners to build integrated solutions addressing the security and compliance requirements of critical environments. OPSWAT's specialised capabilities for protecting files, removable media, segmented networks and OT environments can be combined with infrastructure and cybersecurity technologies available through Redington's wider portfolio. Partners can then add assessments, implementation and professional services to deliver complete, outcome-based CIP propositions, rather than standalone products. Managed services will form a central part of this partnership. Through Redington's DigiGlass offering, partners will be able to extend customer engagements into 24/7 security operations without having to make the upfront investment required to build their own security operations capabilities. Hussam Sidani, Regional Vice President - META, OPSWAT, said, "Critical infrastructure customers cannot wait for technology to clear borders, financing gaps or skills shortages. Redington brings resilience on all three fronts. Its financial stability gives partners the confidence to pursue complex, multi-stage projects; its regional stock and logistics help keep hardware-led deployments moving when supply chains are under pressure; and programs like DigiGlass give partners a path from product resale into recurring, higher-value managed services." Sayantan Dev, Chief Executive Officer, Software Solutions Group, Redington, said, "Critical infrastructure is becoming increasingly connected, making its protection more complex and more critical. As AI accelerates both innovation and the sophistication of emerging threats, partners need the right technologies, expertise and support to stay ahead. This is where technology ecosystem orchestration becomes important - bringing together the right security capabilities, partner expertise and market context. Through our partnership with OPSWAT, we aim to enable partners to strengthen cyber resilience, address emerging AI-driven risks and build relevant solutions that help customers protect the critical infrastructure their businesses and economies depend on." During the first 12 months, OPSWAT and Redington will prioritise Africa, Türkiye and CIS through recruiting and certifying partners, building qualified pipeline and pursuing early customer reference wins. OPSWAT will lead technical certification and enablement, while Redington drives partner recruitment and channel logistics across the region. The same partner, enablement and go-to-market framework will be available across the wider METAPCIS footprint from day one, with execution tailored to local regulations, procurement requirements and channel readiness.

MetaDefender(TM) endpoint v7.6.2608 release.

MetaDefender(TM) endpoint v7.6.2608 release. Sep 9, 2026 Every update to MetaDefender Endpoint is designed to help security teams protect critical infrastructure without slowing down the people who rely on it every day. This release focuses on giving administrators more control over how Peripheral Media Protection responds in the field, keeping threat detection running even when a scan server goes down, and closing visibility gaps around patch status and remediation. Here's what's new for Windows (v7.6.2608), macOS (v10.4.2608), and Linux (v15.6.2608) platforms. What's New in MetaDefender Endpoint. Advanced BadUSB Protection. Malicious USB devices can do more than simply carry infected files. Attackers can use devices that mimic trusted peripherals, such as keyboards, to inject malicious keystrokes and execute automated actions. With this release, OPSWAT, Inc. introduce advanced protection against malicious peripheral devices with its Peripheral Device Control feature. This new feature enables MetaDefender Endpoint to detect and block malicious peripheral devices by identifying automated behaviors such as keystroke injection. This helps prevent BadUSB and other peripheral device-based attacks before they can compromise an endpoint. New threat scanning experience. In addition to the BadUSB Protection feature, OPSWAT, Inc. introduce a new threat-scanning and detection interface in Peripheral Device Control, providing users with real-time visibility into the scanning process. The updated interface displays scanning progress, detection status, and warnings for both device-borne and file content-based threats, helping users understand what is happening when a peripheral device is connected and quickly identify potential security risks. Keep BIOS and drivers up to date. Vulnerabilities don't only exist in applications. Outdated BIOS and device drivers can also introduce security and reliability risks. Patch Management now supports patching endpoints' BIOS and drivers, helping administrators keep critical firmware and drivers up to date and reduce exposure to vulnerabilities in the components that power their endpoints. Control USB port access from Central Management. Security teams can now control peripheral connectivity and manage USB port access directly from My OPSWAT(TM) Central Management. Administrators can centrally block or unblock specific USB ports across managed endpoints, helping reduce unauthorized peripheral connections while simplifying security management from a single location. Scan specific file types. For better granular control, Peripheral Media Protection now enables administrators to define specific file types for content scanning using an allowlist. Files matching the configured allowlist are scanned, while all other file types are automatically blocked without scanning. This gives organizations greater control over their scanning policies while supporting their specific operational requirements. Scan password-protected files with On-Access scanning. Password-protected files can create a blind spot for security controls when their contents cannot be inspected. With this release, Peripheral Media Protection supports decryption of password-protected files during On-Access File Scanning. When a protected file is encountered, users are prompted to enter the password so the file can be decrypted and scanned for potential threats. On-Demand Malware scanning in macOS. macOS users can now seamlessly perform targeted malware checks. On-Demand Malware Scan is now available directly from the macOS file system, enabling users to right-click a specific file or folder and initiate a malware scan. This makes it easier to quickly investigate suspicious files or verify content without running a full endpoint scan. More granular Malware Scan exclusions. Security policies often need to accommodate specific applications, workflows, or system directories. MetaDefender Endpoint administrators can now configure folder and individual file path exclusions for specific machines. These device-level exclusions provide greater flexibility when configuring Malware Scan policies while enabling organizations to maintain protection across the rest of the endpoint. More visibility into anti-malware engines evaluation. OPSWAT, Inc. has also enhanced the anti-malware scanning engines interface to provide greater transparency into the scanning process. The updated pop-up now displays the complete list of available anti-malware engines, along with a new column indicating which administrator-selected engines are used to evaluate file-scanning results. Malware Scan feature is now available on Linux. Expanding Malware Scan to Linux devices brings advanced malware protection to critical Linux endpoints. Linux devices can now benefit from the combined capabilities of Predictive Alin AI, Metascan(TM) Multiscanning, Deep CDR(TM) Technology, Proactive DLP(TM), and Country of Origin technologies to analyze files and identify malicious content.
