Requirements
  • Veterinary Technician, Emergency Services A: 0-1 year of veterinary experience and board eligible within 3 months
  • Veterinary Technician, Emergency Services B: 1-2 years of veterinary experience and a CVT
  • Veterinary Technician, Emergency Services C: 3-4 years of veterinary experience and a CVT
  • Veterinary Technician, Emergency Services D: 5+ years of veterinary experience and a CVT
  • Veterinary Technician, Emergency Services E: 8+ years of experience and a VTS, or additional certifications
  • Must be flexible, have strong critical thinking skills and good technical skills
Responsibilities
  • triage all incoming cases efficiently and accurately, including prioritization and work-up of cases
  • assist in monitoring and maintaining patients during emergency and critical care scenarios
  • administer medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians
  • perform basic diagnostic imaging and assist in anesthesia and monitoring
  • prepare and maintain treatment records and patient care reports
  • assist in CPR and resuscitation efforts as needed
  • coordinate with veterinary and support staff to ensure smooth workflow in the emergency service
  • assist during surgeries and post-operative care when required
  • maintain equipment and facility cleanliness and safety standards
  • provide education and support to clients and families during critical moments
Desired Qualifications
  • board eligible within 3 months is not desirable to state twice
  • CVT is required for B, C, D; E requires VTS or additional certifications
  • 8+ years of experience and VTS or additional certifications should be described clearly as a separate item
