Requirements
  • Proven track record leading product for a complex, data-intensive platform — enterprise software-as-a-service, artificial intelligence/machine learning platforms, healthcare technology, or similar, with ownership of product vision and roadmap for a product that matters
  • Deep understanding of how AI/ML products work, including discussion of model outputs, confidence intervals, and evaluation metrics; not required to train models
  • Experience building products where the user is a domain expert (scientist, clinician, analyst, or operator) rather than a consumer
  • Demonstrated ability to operate at both the strategic level (product vision, multi-quarter roadmap) and execution level (writing specs, reviewing designs, shipping weekly) in a small company
  • Strong product instinct for presenting AI-generated insights to enable high-stakes decisions, with focus on trust, calibration, explainability, and uncertainty
  • Bias toward building; maker mindset; ability to ship fast and iterate based on learnings
Responsibilities
  • Own the product vision and roadmap for Foundry and translate needs of scientists, clinicians, clinical operations teams, business development, and leadership into a multi-quarter plan
  • Prioritize ruthlessly across modules and surfaces to optimize sequencing and impact
  • Shape the end-to-end Foundry experience across Command Center, Programs, Sprint, Scout, DEC, and Foundry Chat; define how AI-generated insights are presented and how users interact with AI agents
  • Bridge OFM outputs to actionable decisions by determining how foundation model predictions surface in Foundry, defining reliability, explainability, and calibration requirements, and ensuring calibratable and auditable recommendations
  • Drive adoption and impact by making Foundry indispensable, defining success metrics (decision quality, speed, confidence) and building instrumentation; gathering user feedback for rapid product improvements
  • Build the product function by establishing product management practices in a small-team, AI-agent-driven environment, leading a team of operators and coordinating with engineering; partnering with Head of Engineering and cross-functional teams
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in healthcare, biotech, life sciences, or drug development with understanding of Foundry user context (clinical trials, regulatory milestones, portfolio investment decisions, competitive intelligence in oncology)
  • Experience building AI-agent-powered products or workflows with autonomous AI personas or multi-agent architectures
  • Experience as first product hire or building a product function from zero in an engineering-led organization
  • Comfort with high-intensity, high-autonomy, flat environment with direct leadership access

Pathos combines artificial intelligence with oncology to speed up cancer drug development. It analyzes large oncology datasets, including genomics, using advanced AI and machine learning to identify novel therapeutic targets and biomarkers, guiding the creation of more effective, personalized cancer treatments. The company collaborates with pharmaceutical and biotechnology partners to de-risk pipelines, shorten development timelines, and increase the odds of success for new cancer therapies. Pathos differentiates itself by offering an integrated data-driven platform that leverages diverse genomic and clinical data to drive target validation and biomarker discovery for partner programs. Its goal is to accelerate the delivery of better cancer treatments by turning complex data into actionable insights.

  • Foundry could accelerate asset sourcing, trial design, and biomarker selection across oncology.

What critics are saying

  • Clinical-stage oncology programs face high failure rates and long development timelines.
  • Pathos depends on external partners for data access, validation, and revenue.
  • AI-driven asset selection can fail, undermining partner trust and future deal flow.

What makes Pathos unique

  • Pathos combines oncology-specific AI with multimodal patient data and biological modeling.
  • Its Foundry platform identifies undervalued oncology assets, not just internal drug candidates.
  • Pathos builds through biopharma partnerships, including AstraZeneca, Tempus, and Novo Nordisk.
