Requirements
  • A Master's degree in Educational Administration is required.
  • A Texas principal certificate or other appropriate Texas certificate is required.
  • The candidate must be eligible to be a certified appraiser for the Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System or another approved evaluation system.
  • The candidate must be able to lead the administrative team under the guidance of the campus principal.
  • The candidate must be able to leverage curriculum, technology, and physical spaces for future-ready learning and instruction.
  • The candidate must be able to cultivate social-emotional learning to support the well-being of students.
  • The candidate must be able to support implementation of district goals related to future-ready learning, balanced assessment, and personalized learning and growth.
  • The candidate must be able to oversee procedures and processes that maintain a safe and healthy environment for staff and students.
  • The candidate must be able to interpret data.
  • The candidate must demonstrate organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.
  • A minimum of three years of experience as a classroom teacher is required.
Responsibilities
  • Direct and manage the instructional program and supervise campus operations and personnel.
  • Provide leadership to ensure high standards of instructional service.
  • Oversee compliance with district policies, the instructional program, and campus activities.
  • Encourage and support development of future-ready learner skills, including embracing challenges, communicating, collaborating, contributing, innovating, and responding.
  • Model effective use of digital learning and risk-taking to advance the district vision for future-ready learning.
  • Assist the campus principal in facilitating use of flexible learning spaces to maximize student learning.
  • Build instructional and leadership capacity among staff.
  • Monitor instructional and managerial processes, relate program activities to results, and take corrective action based on findings.
  • Promote social-emotional learning for students and staff.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive culture in which learners have input, feel valued, and are invested.
  • Encourage a growth mindset based on individual learner needs.
  • Provide resources and ongoing support for teaching staff to accomplish instructional goals and support collaboration among staff.

  • Ensure uniform observance of school rules and appropriate, equitable student discipline in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and Student Handbook.
  • Select, develop, and retain staff.
  • Promote educator participation, leadership, and collaboration in professional learning communities.
  • Monitor and evaluate staff performance related to instructional strategies, classroom management, and public communication.
  • Observe employee performance, record observations, conduct evaluation conferences, and make employment recommendations to the principal and superintendent.
  • Work with campus planning and decision-making committees to plan professional learning activities.
  • Engage in collaborative goal-setting with staff.
  • Manage school facilities and innovative learning spaces in response to student needs.
  • Assist in developing the master schedule.
  • Supervise campus operations in the principal's absence.
  • Help plan daily school activities, including class schedules, teacher assignments, and extracurricular activity schedules.
  • Supervise student attendance reporting and monitoring and work with the attendance clerk on follow-up investigations.
  • Compile annual budget requests with department heads and faculty based on documented program needs.
  • Monitor requisitions for supplies, textbooks, and equipment; check inventory; maintain records; and verify material receipts.
  • Assist with safety inspections and safety-drill practices.
  • Coordinate transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support services.
  • Comply with federal and state laws, State Board of Education rules, and board policy.
  • Ensure students are supervised during non-instructional periods.
  • Conduct conferences with parents, students, and teachers regarding student and school issues.
  • Participate in professional development related to the job assignment.
  • Build community and school partnerships that address learning standards and create real-world learning opportunities.
  • Articulate the school's mission to the community and solicit support for realizing it.
  • Assess school and community needs and values and initiate activities to address them.
  • Encourage community and parent involvement.
  • Supervise teachers, custodians, paraprofessionals, clerical personnel, and other assigned staff.
  • Maintain emotional control under stress and work with frequent interruptions.
  • Work occasional districtwide and statewide travel and frequent prolonged and irregular hours.
