Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent GED is required.
  • Five years of commercial roofing experience completing similar work is required.
  • Basic mathematical functions are required.
  • Knowledge of required hand and power tools is required.
  • Familiarity with applicable codes and standards is required.
  • Ability to perform assigned work tasks with minimal supervision is required.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional and courteous manner in diversified situations is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required intelligence community level clearance is required.
  • Ability to pass a pre-hire background and drug screen is required.
  • A valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and team lift 75 pounds is required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance and repair work on various types of roofing systems, including metal, pitched, and tar roofing.
  • Perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance on roofing and lightning protection systems.
  • Assist the maintenance carpentry team as needed.
  • Plan and organize work, meet deadlines, and perform a variety of tasks during a single day.
  • Coordinate with trade and warehouse personnel to identify correct materials, parts, assemblies, and requisition requirements.
  • Respond to emergency site maintenance as required.
  • Inspect and diagnose problems to determine corrective repairs.
  • Perform on-call and preventive maintenance duties as necessary.
  • Assist with periodic stock inventories and prepare material requisitions for replacement items.
  • Safely operate customer and company motor vehicles and other equipment.
  • Perform lower-classified duties such as file maintenance, workspace cleanup, warehouse-space maintenance, and telephone answering as required.
  • Assist and support other trade groups and department staff in daily operations as needed.
  • Follow established safety and personnel policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Work overtime as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Possession of the required security clearance is preferred.
  • Knowledge of lightning protection systems is preferred.
