  • Understanding of investments and financial instruments, including asset classes, risk and return, performance measurement, and portfolio construction.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Must return to studies after the internship, or the internship must be part of the candidate’s curriculum.
  • Must have the right to work in Canada for the specified period; Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid open work permit are accepted.
  • Good communication skills in English and French, or willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
  • Identify pain points and opportunities in the External Manager Selection and Monitoring team’s investment process, prototype solutions, and iterate toward production-ready tools.
  • Develop artificial-intelligence-enabled tools and workflows to improve investment research, manager screening, due diligence, and portfolio monitoring.
  • Automate recurring quantitative and qualitative analyses, including performance and portfolio data updates, peer comparisons, exposure monitoring, and risk monitoring.
  • Read industry and technical research to identify ways emerging artificial intelligence capabilities can be applied to manager selection and oversight.
  • Evaluate artificial-intelligence-generated outputs from an investment perspective to ensure conclusions are accurate, financially meaningful, and supported by evidence.
  • Partner with professionals across the firm and with the Data Science and AI team to gather requirements, validate outputs, and drive adoption of solutions.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with financial, capital-market, and portfolio datasets.
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg.
  • Programming skills in Python and SQL, and experience with data-visualization tools such as Power BI.

ADIA, PSP Investments buy $16.3M stake in SG Mart as shares rise 5%

Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and PSP Investments acquired a combined 1.68% stake in SG Mart for ₹138 crore on 14 July. ADIA purchased 11.23 lakh shares (0.89% stake) for approximately ₹72.99 crore at ₹650 per share, whilst PSP Investments bought 10 lakh shares (0.79% stake) for ₹64.99 crore at ₹649.98 per share. The building materials solutions provider's shares rose 5% to close at ₹654.15 on the National Stock Exchange following the transaction. The institutional buying coincided with HR Global Manufacturing's exit, which sold a 1.74% stake worth ₹143 crore. HR Global subsequently acquired shares in Yatharth Hospital & Trauma Care Services for ₹40.73 crore, suggesting portfolio rebalancing rather than concerns about SG Mart's fundamentals.
