Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent substitute experience is required.
  • At least 3 years of electrical experience working with industrial equipment is required.
  • At least 3 years of oil and gas experience on a drilling rig is preferred.
  • A Master Electrician License is preferred.
  • Experience servicing industrial refrigeration equipment and/or electrical systems is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the Office 365 suite, computers, and smartphones is required.
  • A valid driver's license and insurability according to company policy are required.
  • Ability to work long hours and provide support during evenings and weekends is required.
  • Ability to report to the service yard is required.
  • Ability to perform moderate manual labor for shifts of 10 or more hours is required.
  • Ability to perform occasional heavy labor, including pulling heavy cables, is required.
  • General flexibility to move around equipment and fine fingering dexterity are required.
Responsibilities
  • Complete required safety and refresher training, use proper personal protective equipment, and follow company, customer, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration safety standards.
  • Support other service technicians in improving their electrical equipment proficiency.
  • Take on special projects to upgrade electrical components on company equipment.
  • Maintain accurate communication and documentation of field conditions and service events using Outlook, Excel, Calendars, OneDrive, and smartphones.
  • Immediately notify management according to procedure regarding field conditions and service events, particularly when problems arise.
  • Perform electrical setup, maintenance, and repair on 120-volt AC and 480-volt AC systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical components, log common issues, and recommend solutions for recurring issues.
  • Perform phase and motor rotation and wire mud and heat-transfer-fluid pumps.
  • Use proper cable fitting devices and techniques.
  • Perform basic wiring, including cutting and stripping wire, wiring electrical plugs and receptacles up to 200 amps, and maintaining proper wire termination and labeling.
  • Represent the company at drilling sites and communicate professionally and thoroughly with customers.
  • Respond to service calls and service equipment at customer drilling rig sites.
  • Inspect electrical, air, water, mud, structural, and inventory systems.
  • Perform mechanical repairs on company equipment, including mud pumps, air systems, water systems, and mud systems.
  • Perform basic welding, cutting, and grinding for equipment builds and maintenance.
  • Conduct customer service in accordance with company mission and values.
Desired Qualifications
  • Oil and gas experience on a drilling rig is preferred.
  • A Master Electrician License is preferred.
  • Experience servicing industrial refrigeration equipment and/or electrical systems is preferred.
