Oshkosh unveils AI-powered contamination detection tech for refuse and recycling vehicles

Oshkosh Corporation has introduced AI-enabled technology to detect material contamination during refuse and recycling collection in real time. Developed by its McNeilus subsidiary in collaboration with Paris-based Lixo, the system uses computer vision and machine learning to identify over 80 contaminants, including plastic bags, yard waste and hazardous materials.
