This is a term position; length of the term will be discussed during the interview process. Continuation past the term length discussed will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding.

POSITION SPECIFICS

The Department of Mathematics in Penn State's Eberly College of Science is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar beginning August 2026. The successful candidate will work with Professor John Harlim and his collaborators, Yan Li in the Electrical Engineering department, and Daning Huang in the Aerospace Engineering department in the area of Scientific Machine Learning. The project is to develop computationally efficient reduced-order dynamical systems on graph with modern power grid systems as an application.  

Education and Experience:

Applicants must have recently completed a Ph.D. and have exceptional research potential. Teaching may be required.
 

Qualified candidates are expected to have a background in scientific machine learning, numerical analysis, and dynamical systems. Preference will be given to candidates that are proficient with graph neural networks and other scientific machine learning tools.
