Requirements
  • Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology required or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • CRT - Certified Radiologic Technologist current New York State licensure upon hire required
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists with continuing education credits upon hire required
Responsibilities
  • Identifies patient service requirements.
  • Educates patients/families regarding procedure and/or treatment to be performed.
  • Prepares patient for radiological/Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures by positioning patient, adjusts immobilization devices, moves equipment into specified position, and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors.
  • Performs procedures by following and verifying referring provider’s orders.
  • Applies learned methodologies according to established policy and procedures.
  • Produces high quality images and prepares/presents them, with other pertinent patient information, for timely interpretation.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate documentation. Maintains production and quality of MRI images by following established standards, orders, protocols and procedures.
  • Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors by adhering to MRI safety policies specific to MRI ZONES.
  • Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements.
  • Troubleshoots and notifies appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance.
  • May train new employees or lead day-to-day work activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
