Helen of Troy targets sub-20% China tariff exposure by end of FY27 amid $51M tariff hit

Helen of Troy has outlined a multi-phase transformation strategy focused on restoring top-line growth, designating fiscal 2027 as a "year of restoration". The company is shifting to a brand-led operating model and reducing China tariff exposure to under 20% by year-end, down from approximately 30%. Fourth-quarter net sales exceeded expectations despite macro headwinds and a weak flu season impacting its Wellness business. The company sold its Southaven distribution facility for $78 million, immediately applying proceeds to debt reduction. Fiscal 2027 guidance assumes heavily back-half weighted earnings, with first-quarter results expected near breakeven as tariff costs impact margins. Management has implemented $50 million in price increases and plans to increase growth investment by 40 basis points, prioritising innovation and digital commerce capabilities across platforms like TikTok.
