Slip Robotics provides the SlipBot automated loading system as a Robots-as-a-Service for loading docks. The SlipBot can load or unload a full truck trailer in about five minutes by staging freight at the dock and moving it as a single unit, with no facility changes or IT setup required. The system includes SlipController for control, SlipView for live/historical data, and attachments like SlipBot+Rack and SlipBot+Bin to handle non-uniform items, all delivered via annual subscription that covers hardware, software, and data access. The company aims to reduce dock loading time and truck dwell, increase throughput, improve safety by removing forklift entry into trailers, and scale deployments across the logistics ecosystem with data-driven insights for customers.

What believers are saying

  • SlipLift reached initial deployments in 2026 and broader availability throughout the year.
  • Slip hired a dozen employees since summer 2026, including field and engineering roles.
  • Customers like John Deere, GE Appliances, Nissan, Valeo, and Four Hands validate demand.

What critics are saying

  • Berkshire Grey's Scoop launched February 2026, challenging Slip in dock unloading.
  • Symbotic acquired Fox Robotics in 2026, intensifying dock-automation competition with distribution scale.
  • Slip depends on warehouse adoption cycles; a failed SlipLift ramp would crush RaaS economics.

What makes Slip Robotics unique

  • SlipLift decouples robot from payload, serving multiple dock doors since February 2026.
  • Slip Robotics loads and unloads trucks in five minutes without facility or IT changes.
  • SlipBot and SlipLift target both short-haul and 20,000-pound regional freight operations.

Slip Robotics launches SlipLift to automate loading of 20,000-pound freight across more routes

Atlanta-based Slip Robotics has launched SlipLift, a new platform extending autonomous trailer loading and unloading beyond short-haul routes to heavier freight, regional distribution and last-mile delivery. The system supports payloads up to 20,000 pounds and requires no facility, trailer or IT infrastructure modifications. SlipLift decouples robots from payloads, allowing fewer robots to service more docks whilst maintaining the speed and safety of Slip's existing SlipBot platform. The system uses customisable SlipCarriers that stack when empty to save space. Operators control the process via handheld devices whilst remaining outside trailers. The platform enables pre-staging of freight for last-mile operations and faster morning load-outs. Initial deployments are underway, with broader availability planned throughout the year. Slip Robotics' existing clients include John Deere, GE Appliances and Nissan.
