Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g. CSP) preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing equipment development and/or commissioning support role.
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing is preferred.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with mechanical, electrical, automation, and control system design.
  • Extensive experience working with OSHA, ISO, ANSI, RIA, NFPA, UL and other regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Scout’s Equipment Safety Program
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and enforce safety protocols for equipment and machinery
  • Utilize best practice risk assessment methodologies to ensure equipment and process engineering safety through design
  • Partner with Production and Engineering teams on Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of incoming processes
  • Conduct Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) safety functionality testing on newly installed or modified equipment
  • Oversee change management on safety systems of existing equipment, processes, and facilities
  • Support and lead root cause analysis activities related to incident investigation and learning teams
  • Develop and deliver training programs for employees on equipment safety procedures
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS Management System elements
  • Ensure compliance with industry safety standards; local, state and federal regulations; and company safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain detailed records of equipment safety assessments, inspections, and corrective actions.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on safety performance and improvement initiatives.
