Requirements
  • A high school diploma and two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications.
  • Basic math and reading skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
  • Ability to make decisions that improve production workflow and output.
  • Ability to solve problems by breaking them into steps and producing logical, timely solutions.
  • Ability to manage time, schedule, and prioritize tasks according to daily demands.
  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Ability to regularly lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to use Pack Manager, Kronos, and EDI systems such as SAP.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure production lines are properly set up and operate safely.
  • Ensure line workers understand their safety requirements, including personal protective equipment.
  • Participate in and promote safety observations and address unsafe acts or behaviors.
  • Maintain a clean and organized production line.
  • Train production line personnel and monitor their performance, adjusting tasks and positions to maximize workflow.
  • Work with technicians, manufacturing engineering, production supervisors, and materials or warehouse staff to resolve issues.
  • Manage and prioritize staffing assignments with supervisors and other team leads to meet customer demand and production schedules.
  • Plan and schedule each hour of the shift to maximize production-line output.
  • Instruct assembly-line workers on expectations and ensure they have the necessary tools.
  • Verify, manage, and reconcile inventory consumption and remaining balances.
  • Resolve issues with the production lead or supervisor that could compromise on-time order delivery.
  • Use problem-solving skills to maintain stable work-cell operations.
  • Report quality, process, equipment, material, and labor problems or concerns to the production supervisor.
  • Stage daily workflow and line changeovers proactively.
  • Execute and coordinate employee training so procedures meet specification, regulatory, and customer quality requirements.
  • Follow detailed assembly instructions, processes, and procedures.
  • Ensure traceability of materials requiring lot or expiration-date tracking.
  • Follow documented company quality-system policies and procedures.
  • Complete documentation required for business and regulatory purposes.
  • Prevent and minimize deviations and nonconformances.
  • Sustain and drive Lean Manufacturing and 5S activities.
  • Observe, maintain, coordinate, and complete standard work.
  • Track products and materials from staging through finished production in Pack Manager and maintain inventory accuracy and integrity.
  • Update system records and complete required reporting and administrative tasks for the production line.
  • Complete production-line paperwork and record completed work and issues.
  • Identify and support continuous-improvement efforts with the production supervisor.
  • Operate within staffing requirements for each order.
  • Remove sources of waste from the production line.
  • Champion change opportunities and counter resistance to change.
  • Follow up to ensure quality tasks are completed.
  • Establish repetitious routines and monitor and adjust line operations as required.
  • Operate a safe line and achieve production, productivity, and quality targets.
  • Develop a motivated and competent production team.

  • Experience leading teams or projects.
  • Regulated current Good Manufacturing Practice manufacturing experience.
  • Lean Manufacturing and continual process-improvement experience.
