Requirements
  • A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • Knowledge of personal computer hardware and A+ certification are required.
  • At least two years of experience in a service desk environment is required.
  • Knowledge of PC software and operating systems, including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, mainframe systems, and SQL, is required.
  • Knowledge of basic and first-level customer support, application support, problem solving, ITIL Service Management, quality assurance, performance monitoring, and customer service principles is required.
  • The ability to explain technical issues to non-technical personnel and work independently or as part of a team within established procedures is required.
Responsibilities
  • Receive incident and information-request calls through the service desk application, resolve them at the point of contact when possible, or route them to the appropriate person or team.
  • Monitor service calls from inception through resolution and keep customers informed of progress.
  • Escalate calls to the Service Desk Manager according to predefined procedures.
  • Provide technical support to the 911 Call Center for hardware and application issues, including collecting logs for vendors.
  • Image, configure, and install PCs and peripherals, including mobile computers used in police vehicles.
  • Prioritize and escalate calls based on the business impact of reported problems.
  • Resolve as many calls as possible at tier one and clearly define unresolved problems for tier-two and tier-three support.
  • Stay current with technology developments within the Division of Technology to support point-of-contact problem resolution.
  • Perform first-line incident resolution for IT-related problems outside agreed targets.
  • Travel to remote Police locations to resolve PC and peripheral issues and install data lines as needed.
  • Manage service desk tickets, meet commitments, respond to customer needs, and solicit customer feedback to improve services.

Philadelphia to deploy up to 1,000 curbside EV chargers with it's electric across all neighbourhoods

It's electric has signed an agreement with Philadelphia to deploy up to 1,000 Level 2 curbside electric vehicle chargers across the city, making Philadelphia the first US city to pursue city-wide curbside charging at this scale. City Council is set to vote on enabling legislation in June. The network will prioritise neighbourhoods based on rideshare driver density, lack of existing charging infrastructure and environmental justice considerations. More than 60% of Philadelphia households lack off-street parking, making curbside charging essential for EV adoption. It's electric's hardware draws power from existing buildings and utility poles, avoiding interconnection delays and grid upgrades. The first chargers are scheduled to go live in early 2027, with deployment spanning all 18 city planning districts.
