Pomerantz Law Firm is investigating potential securities fraud claims against Vertiv Holdings Co and certain officers or directors on behalf of investors. The investigation follows Vertiv's second-quarter 2026 financial results announced on 29 July 2026. The company reported net sales of $3.27 billion, missing the consensus estimate of $3.38 billion. Vertiv attributed the shortfall to "minor timing shifts" caused by temporary supply chain congestion and multi-phased project execution as deployments become larger and more complex. Following the announcement, Vertiv's share price dropped $46.52, or 17.26%, closing at $223.04 on 29 July 2026. Investors are advised to contact the law firm for information about joining a potential class action lawsuit.
Vertiv and Eaton reported contrasting Q2 2026 results last week, highlighting different approaches to AI infrastructure. Vertiv posted $3.27 billion in revenue, up 24%, with free cash flow surging 234%. The company is positioning itself as an AI-native alternative to Schneider Electric by co-developing digital twin tools with NVIDIA, supported by roughly 80% data centre revenue concentration. Eaton delivered $8.53 billion in revenue through 14% organic growth plus 7% from acquisitions. Data centre organic revenue climbed 65%, boosted by the Boyd Thermal acquisition, which added $432 million. However, segment margins slipped 80 basis points on acquisition dilution, and long-term debt swelled to $18.5 billion from $8.8 billion. Eaton is building a grid-to-chip portfolio through the $9.55 billion Boyd Thermal deal and other acquisitions.
AST SpaceMobile and Vertiv Holdings represent contrasting investment opportunities in high-growth sectors. AST operates a satellite-based cellular broadband network connecting standard mobile phones in remote locations. In July 2026, the company completed a $1.15 billion convertible notes offering but reported a negative 1,296% net income margin for the quarter ended March 2026. Vertiv designs and manufactures critical systems for data centres and communication networks. The company recently acquired thermal engineering firms ThermoKey and Strategic Thermal Labs, generating a 15% net income margin for the quarter ended June 2026. Revenue performance differs markedly between the two. AST's quarterly revenue fluctuated from $1.1 million to $54.3 million over recent quarters. Vertiv demonstrated consistent growth, expanding from $2.1 billion to $3.3 billion quarterly. AST trades at 225 times trailing revenue, whilst Vertiv trades at nine times revenue.

Power and cooling move up the agenda. Increasing compute density is placing greater demands on the systems that keep those servers powered and within operating temperatures. That puts critical power and cooling at the heart of data centre design as AI and HPC workloads drive higher power densities. Vertiv brings expertise across both areas, with its role in the collaboration expected to include critical power systems, thermal management and advanced liquid cooling design and engineering. Liquid cooling is now a vital element of AI infrastructure as conventional air cooling is harder to apply efficiently at higher rack densities. For Bitzero, access to this expertise forms part of a wider strategy to assemble the technical capabilities required to deliver modern high-performance compute environments. Vertiv hosts Technovation 2026, its fifth engineering innovation forum to celebrate excellence in engineering at Vertiv. Event brought over 700 Vertiv participants from engineering hubs and 137 technical presentations. Vertiv hosted Technovation 2026 at its Global Engineering Center in Pune. Now in its fifth edition, the forum gave engineers across Vertiv's global hubs a platform to present technical work on AI and high-density data center infrastructure, energy efficiency and power management, and AI-enabled operations and infrastructure digitalization. The event drew more than 700 participants across Vertiv's teams, with a total of 137 innovation presentations. The day's agenda included a keynote address from Asim Tewari, a professor at India Institute of Technology Bombay, innovation insights from Gregory Ratcliff, chief innovation officer at Vertiv, hackathon updates from Kent Darzi, senior director of software monitoring at Vertiv, and a leadership perspective from Scott Armul, chief product and technology officer at Vertiv. The day also featured panel discussions, poster and demo showcases with live judge interaction, and an awards ceremony recognizing top entries. Steve Blackwell, vice president of engineering at Vertiv, spoke on engineering in the age of AI. "Days like this are why I'm excited about where our engineering organization is headed.
