Requirements
  • Ability to engage with guests and provide outstanding retail sales and service.
  • Ability to process information and merchandise transactions and handle cash and media at registers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and retail associate team members.
  • Ability to read, count, and write accurately to ensure precise transactions.
  • Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job.
  • Ability to stand in place for long periods, walk in the store, and bend, stoop, and kneel regularly.
  • Fine finger and broad manual dexterity and eye-hand-foot coordination to operate equipment.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store.
  • Ability to work varied hours and days, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, with adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.
Responsibilities
  • Engage in friendly conversations, make eye contact, and ensure every guest feels welcome and valued.
  • Scan grocery items and process sales and monetary transactions efficiently and accurately.
  • Bag items thoughtfully as needed to ensure products reach their destination in good condition.
  • Maintain awareness of promotions and advertisements to assist guests effectively.
  • Keep the register station neat and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Relay guest requests to the Guest Services leadership team as needed to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure quality and quantity standards are met, especially during peak times.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support the team.

Schnuck Markets Acquires Festival Foods

Schnuck Markets, Inc. has acquired 100% of the shares of Festival Foods and Hometown Grocers, Inc. through the 1939 Group, Inc., owned by the Schnuck family. The acquisition includes shares from CEO Mark Skogen and the Employee Stock Ownership Plan. The 1939 Group will maintain the existing store banners and corporate headquarters, with Todd Schnuck as Chairman and CEO. The transaction is expected to close in October, subject to customary approvals.
