What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

• Support the development and integration of the Harvester Range Extender system within the skateboard platform underpinning the Scout pick-up and SUV, consisting of the gasoline engine, inverter/ generator, fuel, air induction, and exhaust systems.
• Own the overall hardware DVP for the Harvester Range Extender, including prototype sample planning for each development phase.
• Develop and execute test plans together with internal Group partners, Tier 1 suppliers, and internal vehicle testing team to demonstrate that vehicle performance targets can be met by Range Extender system under all operating conditions (including towing, off-road).
• Ensure that required development tools and equipment are available on-time to support internal testing.
• Author test procedures and publish as Scout engineering standard.
• Be a part of the vision of engineering excellence and a source of powertrain knowledge.

Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Novi, MI. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology. (required)
• Strong Powertrain technical fundamentals, particularly for trucks and SUVs (required)
• 5-7 years of experience as a development and/or validation engineer supporting powertrain electrification projects, preferably strong hybrids, from early mule to production. (required)
• Experience with common vehicle CAN datalogging tools (Vector etc), basic vehicle instrumentation (strain gages, thermocouples), and data analysis software. (required)
• Demonstrated ability to influence technical peers without direct authority. (required)
• Strong interpersonal skills including accountability, self-motivation, problem solving, analytical thinking, succinct communication and ability to develop & mutually thrive in working relationships. (required)
• Proven ability to work in a cross-functional environment. (required)
• Direct experience with internal combustion range extender applications (preferred)

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $120,000-$135,000
