About the job
- Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance.
- At least 5 years of hands-on semantic-technology work with Web Ontology Language, Resource Description Framework/Turtle, Shapes Constraint Language, and SPARQL.
- Experience building ontologies aligned to an upper ontology, with Basic Formal Ontology and Common Core Ontologies strongly preferred.
- Production experience with a triple store such as Apache Jena/Fuseki or RDF4J.
- Solid general software-engineering experience with Python, application programming interfaces, and Git, including the ability to handle full-stack web and Amazon Web Services tasks.
- Working familiarity with large language models and retrieval-augmented generation, including connecting structured knowledge to generative applications.
- Design, build, and maintain the enterprise ontology aligned to Basic Formal Ontology and Common Core Ontologies, along with controlled vocabularies, and map source-system data into them.
- Build and manage the knowledge graph using a Resource Description Framework triple store, Shapes Constraint Language validation, and SPARQL queries.
- Build the governed ingestion path so extracted content enters the graph with provenance and confidence, and connect the graph to retrieval and generative-AI applications.
- Perform normal full-stack development work alongside ontology work, including Python services, web user interfaces, and Amazon Web Services.
- Work in a small Scrum team and demonstrate working software every sprint.
- Experience building ontologies aligned to Basic Formal Ontology and Common Core Ontologies.
