Requirements
  • Minimum of a master’s degree in user experience design or related field.
  • Knowledge of developing online courses, including using online tools to enhance best practices.
  • 4 years of experience in the design field.
  • Current knowledge and experience in Adobe Creative Cloud application, which includes Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Figma.
  • Expertise, experience, and knowledge in applications that support online college teaching and curriculum design based on higher education standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse professional, community, and student population in a distance education setting.
Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, oversight, and direction to all aspects of the program, including curriculum, quality of work, program faculty, school climate, student engagement, and industry connections.
  • Recruit, retain, and supervise talented design instructors.
  • Assist the Chief Academic Officer in the strategic development of the curriculum.
  • Participate in compliance initiatives, including Program Advisory Committee Meetings, Annual Program Assessments, accreditation reports, and onsite evaluations.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out within the rules and guidelines of The Modern.
  • Oversee all technical courses to ensure content is aligned with current industry standards and drive innovative growth/strategic direction through curriculum updates to ensure courses stay relentlessly relevant.
  • Collaborate with employers, organizations, and career services to bring real-world, experiential learning opportunities into the classroom.
  • Assist with faculty scheduling each semester, identifying new hire needs, and assisting with the hiring process.
  • Maintain accurate program syllabi and residential/online course materials.
  • Supervise all program faculty, assessing the talents of current instructors and guiding professional development in design accordingly.
  • Regularly collaborate with student services to address student concerns, assess learning outcomes and retention, and resolve complaints.
  • Ensure compliance with The Modern’s Catalog, Student Handbook, and Policies and Procedures manual.
