Requirements
  • Hold a current, unrestricted registered nurse license from any state in the United States.
  • Hold a current American Heart Association-accredited Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Basic Life Support certificate.
  • Hold a current American Heart Association-accredited Advanced Cardiopulmonary Life Support certificate.
  • Hold Certification of Emergency Nursing through the Board of Certifications for Emergency Nurses, or hold Acute/Critical Care Nursing certification through the American Association of Critical Care Nurses Certification Corporation with emergency department experience.
  • Have at least three years of recent experience in an emergency department or major trauma center emergency room, with no more than a six-month employment gap in that setting.
  • Be a graduate of a professional nursing school approved by the appropriate state-accrediting agency and accredited by ACEN or CCNE.
  • Demonstrate strong clinical skills in emergency care settings.
  • Be proficient in inserting and maintaining peripheral and central lines.
  • Be skilled in medication administration and emergency care.
  • Be able to complete and successfully pass any required government background check.
Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage patients with a wide range of physical and psychological conditions.
  • Provide emergency care, including oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous medication administration, blood product administration, and bedside testing.
  • Perform phlebotomy, peripheral line insertion and maintenance, and central line care.
  • Assist with operative and invasive procedures and care for patients in isolation or requiring special precautions.
  • Insert and troubleshoot urinary catheters.
  • Collaborate with physicians, residents, ancillary staff, and other healthcare professionals to meet patient care needs and ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Initiate patient education and discharge instructions as prescribed.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation according to facility and unit policies.
  • Provide psychological support to patients as needed.
  • Assume patient care assignments for a group of patients and ensure comprehensive care.
  • Perform complex wound dressing care and maintenance.
  • Provide care for COVID-19-positive patients and Patients Under Investigation for COVID-19.
  • Verify physician orders.
  • Work closely with the healthcare team to meet patient care needs.

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or a related field is highly preferred.
  • A Master's Degree in Nursing or a related field is highly preferred.
  • Team-oriented approach focused on collaborative patient care.
  • Ability to provide psychological support and handle emergency situations effectively.
