Requirements
A four-year degree or an equivalent combination of technical training and/or experience.
Two to five years of estimating experience in construction or a similar field.
Advanced knowledge of the assigned discipline, estimating techniques, and cost control.
Ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems.
Responsibilities
Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work and required estimate contents.
Prepare discipline estimates by calculating a complete takeoff of the scope of work.
Maintain estimate backup files, including current and accurate supplier pricing information gathered through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, and other sources.
Support other department personnel as required, which may include preparing estimates in other disciplines.
Review design options and recommend the best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or material availability.
Perform additional assignments as directed by the supervisor.
Prepare portions of contract proposal estimates for one or more disciplines, including determining applicable project plans and specifications.

Support other department personnel as required may include preparing estimates in other disciplines.
Review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
Qualifications
Four year degree or equivalent combinations technical training and/or experience.
2-5 years estimating in construction or a similar field
Advanced knowledge of assigned discipline, estimating techniques and cost control, plus ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems essential.
