Requirements
  • A Diplôme d’études collégiales (DEC) in specialized education techniques or an equivalent recognized qualification.
  • Experience with clients presenting behavioral disorders, mental health conditions, or intellectual disabilities is an asset.
  • Strong observation skills, teamwork, autonomy, and adaptability are required.
  • Communication and relational intervention skills are required.
  • Availability for a variable schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends according to service needs, is required.
Responsibilities
  • Assess clients’ needs, abilities, and challenges.
  • Participate in developing and updating individualized intervention plans.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including nurses, educators, social workers, and psychologists.
  • Intervene directly with clients in their living environment to foster adaptation, autonomy, and social participation.
  • Support clients in daily activities, including hygiene, leisure, learning, and emotional management.
  • Implement educational strategies tailored to each person’s specific needs.
  • Maintain a healthy, safe, and stimulating living environment.
  • Observe, analyze, and document changes in clients’ behavior and progress.
  • Write observation notes and progress reports.
  • Participate in clinical and follow-up meetings with the team.
  • Partner with families, close contacts, and other network professionals.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary coordination and contribute to continuous improvement of practices.
  • Organize and lead educational, social, athletic, or cultural activities adapted to clients’ abilities.
  • Promote the development of social skills and daily-living competencies.
