Requirements
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing with proof of at least 9 credits or 3 classes in any graduate program, or an approved national certification related to the content area being taught.
- Two years of recent clinical work experience in nursing.
- An active, current, unencumbered, and multistate compact registered nurse license.
- The ability to successfully pass a drug test and competency testing.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
Responsibilities
- Reinforce didactic content by teaching the knowledge and skills needed for pre-licensure nursing.
- Collaborate with content-area faculty to provide expert evaluation and documentation of student progress toward clinical objectives.
- Participate in grading written and clinical performance check-offs.
- Remain current with new trends and developments in the specific field of nursing practice.
- Maintain compliance with requirements for program accreditation.
- Uphold the tenets of nursing as a holistic profession and the pillars of the university.
- Travel to Grand Canyon University student sites to directly observe student performance.
- Participate in and support the university program in all areas, including alignment with the philosophy and direction of the institution and service to the community.
- Provide a positive example to students by supporting the university's Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission.
Desired Qualifications
- A Master of Science in Nursing is preferred.
