Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Obtain Registered Behavior Technician certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board within six months of hire.
  • Pass a state criminal background check and a federal background check if applicable to regulated areas.
  • Have one year of experience providing treatment to young children with autism is preferred.
  • Be able to remain on your feet or walk for extended periods.
  • Be able to lift, push, or pull 40 pounds.
  • Be able to get up and down from the floor or small chairs while instructing or playing with small children.
  • Be comfortable collaborating with attending physicians.
  • Possess efficient time management skills.
  • Have excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Understand medical terminology.
  • Respond quickly to varying demands from providers and patients.
  • Maintain professional boundaries.
  • Have basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Accept constructive feedback and develop related knowledge and skills.
Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one direct client therapy using principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.
  • Follow behavioral skills acquisition and behavior reduction protocols developed by certified staff.
  • Implement toilet training protocols.
  • Collect and record data on observable client behavior.
  • Communicate with parents and caregivers about the child's daily performance as directed by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
  • Maintain client confidentiality according to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act laws.
  • Create therapeutic materials.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development, including Registered Behavior Technician certification.
  • Interpret written clinical protocols.
  • Share responsibility for daily cleaning and maintenance of the client workspace and clinic.
  • Pass training competencies tailored to the specific needs of assigned clients, including role-play, verbal communication, coaching, and feedback.
  • Work in a clinical outpatient environment.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or a related field is preferred.
  • Registered Behavior Technician or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst credential is preferred.
