Requirements
  • An MD or DO degree with an active, unrestricted license in Colorado or New Mexico, or a master's or doctoral degree in nursing with APRN credentials, or physician assistant credentials with credible experience.
  • DEA registration is required.
  • A minimum of 5–7 years of clinical experience in addiction medicine, including medication-assisted treatment.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare or behavioral health setting.
  • Demonstrated success guiding multidisciplinary teams and managing regulatory compliance.
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Interpersonal, mentorship, and communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients receiving medication-assisted treatment for opioid and alcohol use disorders.
  • Prescribe and monitor medication-assisted treatment medications, including buprenorphine and naltrexone, ensuring safe, effective, and compliant use.
  • Evaluate treatment outcomes and adjust care plans to support optimal recovery.
  • Collaborate with behavioral health providers and peer specialists to provide integrated, person-centered care.
  • Serve as the clinical leader and subject matter expert for medication-assisted treatment services across assigned clinics.
  • Provide day-to-day clinical consultation, guidance, and support to providers.
  • Create and implement medical policies, protocols, and best practices for safe, consistent, high-quality patient care.
  • Educate and mentor providers and hold them accountable to clinical, professional, and documentation expectations.
  • Supervise the clinical practice, professionalism, and documentation of medical providers.
  • Conduct annual and semiannual performance reviews for supervisees and provide feedback and development goals.
  • Participate in director and leadership meetings to align medical operations with organizational objectives.
  • Manage projects assigned by the Senior Medical Director or CEO and collaborate with clinic and department leads to complete them on time.
  • Support staff morale and well-being while modeling the organization’s values and commitment to compassionate recovery care.
  • Partner with counselors, peer recovery specialists, and healthcare team members to deliver coordinated care.
  • Monitor provider performance and patient outcomes and lead continuous quality-improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to federal and state medication-assisted treatment regulations, documentation standards, and ethical guidelines.
  • Support the development of clinical workflows and operational efficiencies.
  • Promote understanding of substance use disorders and recovery-oriented care among staff and patients.
  • Stay current with clinical research, treatment guidelines, and addiction-medicine best practices.
  • Provide ongoing education, training, and professional development for medical providers.
  • Model compassion, integrity, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Foster inclusion, respect, teamwork, and the professional growth and well-being of staff.
  • Communicate proactively to maintain transparency and alignment between clinical teams and leadership.
  • Champion innovation and quality improvements that advance patient outcomes and operational effectiveness.

Desired Qualifications
  • Board certification in Addiction Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Psychiatry.
