  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience with automation or robotic manufacturing systems.

Area Printing is a high-volume 3D metal printing technology for industrial production. It builds metal parts layer by layer from powder using a specialized additive process to produce complex components quickly and with lower costs and higher quality than traditional methods. It’s designed for large-scale manufacturing in sectors like automotive, aerospace, and construction, enabling digital, on-demand production and reducing the number of conventional fabrication steps. The approach emphasizes green manufacturing and local, resilient supply chains, aiming to lower CO2 emissions and bring metal production closer to end users.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Seurat announced a July 2026 JAQS-SQ award supporting defense metal additive qualification.
  • Its updated July 31, 2026 website describes serial production of high-volume industrial parts.
  • Seurat retains Siemens Energy demand and a 2023 $99 million round led by NVIDIA.

What critics are saying

  • Seurat still shows only two open jobs in January 2026, signaling a tiny operating base.
  • The promised 500-ton factory for late 2025 remains unproven, delaying revenue conversion.
  • Siemens Energy concentration and qualification bottlenecks can kill commercialization before factory-scale economics arrive.

What makes Seurat Technologies unique

  • Area Printing decouples resolution and speed, targeting serial metal production at industrial scale.
  • Seurat holds 130-plus granted and pending patents from LLNL-derived technology.
  • America Makes selected Seurat on July 28, 2026 for defense supplier qualification.
